Miami Dade College Fall 2015 RN Program

Published

Hey guys,

I figured I should share what I know about the Fall 2015 application so far.

So far this is what I know:

  1. Spring 2015 students do not need an entrance exam - let's see if they keep it this way for Fall 2015 applicants
  2. There will be a mandatory SOS Pre Nursing Bootcamp that will need to be attended upon acceptance to the program.
  3. I called advising today (7/7/14) the receptionist said I should start applying in January, but I'll confirm that once again before then.
  4. 60% sciences and 40% cumulative GPA is still the criteria as far as we know.

I figured this should be a great place for us to share our anxiety about our apps and build some friendships :).

Do you live in Broward or Dade county?

I live in dade county . So when my lease is up In nov I will be moving to broward

Well I give up on mdc I was just acceptedto brOward college! So any one who does not get accepted should apply next time around to mdc and broward !!

Congratulations Rene. That's great. Are you going to accept Broward ? I live in Miami by Dolphin Mall by I don't mind driving to Pembroke. I believe that's where the south campus is located. I'm definitely applying at Broward too. For son reasons I don't have a good feeling with MDC. We are only a week away to receive rejections letters.

Please can you share your experience with the Hesi. My only hope is to score in the 90s to have a better chance. Is it that difficult ?

I got accepted too and I live down south too. I'm just happy I got accepted like you lol

It wasn't as difficult as I thought it was going to be. BUT the A&p questions were mind boggling I was so scared I failed that portion but I ended up with a 98 for that section and a total of an 86. Study lots of fractions improper and mixed, you're going to have a very little calculator on each question that you may use. Study quarts and cups I suggest googling the "big g method for quarts and cups" and clicking on the first link best way to remember.

Reading and grammar if English is your first language you should be okay. But still study some reading comprehension exercises especially main idea some of the questions can be just a tad tricky there. If you have a smartphone download the HESI practice apps so you can study all the time.

I got accepted as well! lol I cried. I'm a big baby. Did you confirm your attendance for the meeting?

Forget MDC! Broadening my options. I'm at BC currently to seek further info regarding their transition program! 👍

Well, not entirely "forget"... I'm being mellow dramatic. Lol I'm still reapplying there, but checking into BC as well. :)
