MGH Direct-Entry Nursing 2014

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Published

I just sent in my application for MGH Direct-Entry Nursing 2014 and I was hoping to get in touch with other applicants. I applied for the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP. The wait is going to kill me! I'm wondering about other people's backgrounds (GPA, GRE scores, experience, etc.) and if anyone has an idea of who MGH accepts. Look forward to hearing from you!

I just officially declined tonight. Best of luck, hope you get it! :)

Not sure if everyone here is in MGH's Facebook group, but just in case you're not:

If you need an extension on the deposit deadline, you can e-mail the Admissions Team (not the school of nursing) and request an extension. I was granted an extra week so it's helpful for those who need some extra time deciding!

Also, I was able to acquire a copy of what our schedule MAY look like in the Fall; this was posted for the current 1st year students, so there might be some changes:

I officially declined my PNP spot! Best of luck to you all!

Just got a call from Hopkins. I got in! Not sure how I got waitlisted for MGH but got into Hopins...

It seems everyone makes their decisions in a different way! That's good hear though, maybe you'll hear more good news from MGH soon too.

@tidalrip - did you apply for the BSN or BSN/MSN combined program? im waiting to hear from JHU, heard from everyone else but so hard to make a final decision without all the info!

@selizabethk--im in the same boat as you for JHU/MGH did you extend ur deadline for getting back to MGH?

I went ahead and secured my spot MGH and paid the deposit, I'm very fond of their clinical options and just the way the program is set up, a bit over JHU, and I like Boston. I would like to confirm all my options though, I applied for the BSN/MSN and have not heard from them yet. All they said I would get a letter this week or next.

@dhart17 i emailed JHU admissions multiple times explaining my situation with other schools (such as MGH) and their deadlines to respond by and every time i get a response saying the results will be released this week. Nothing more. However, an applicant in the JHU forum did call admissions and they gave her the results so that might be good to call if u really need ur results as soon as possible.

i actually declined my spot at MGH and paid deposit to BC. they were not willing to let me delay the decision because they wanted to be able to release the second wave of acceptances.

@ selizabethk. I applied for the bsn/msn program. The woman that interviewed me said that it was very possible for me to get accepted to the BSN portion but not the BSN/MSN..when she called me today I accepted the news to be just for the BSN portion but it was for the entire bsn/msn cohort!!!

I am currently doing my undergraduate studies right now and was wondering if people who got accepted could post their average GPAs? (MGH is my top school choice)! Also, if anyone went to community college before attending a university to receive their bachelor's degree, do grad schools factor both GPAs or do they mostly look at the university GPA? Thanks and congrats to everyone who got accepted!!
