Methodist Health System Nurse Residency Summer 2020

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Just thought I would start this thread to keep up with everyone who is applying.

I'm from Dallas but I go to school out of state, does anyone know anything about the timeline of this application process?

The positions seem to have been put up at different times because when I initially applied NICU wasn't posted. When I checked a few days later it was up with a few other positions.

I don't know anything about the timing but it seems different units might review at different times. NICU app closed yesterday, ICU at Methodist Dallas is supposed to close today, and ER doesn't close until the 24th. None of the med surg unit apps have closing dates on them so who knows. Between all the hospitals I'm getting anxious but hopeful to hear something soon.

I've been getting anxious waiting hear back from all the applications. In Louisiana its a lot easier to get jobs as new grads so I could be interviewing for jobs right now like all my classmates(some of them even have offers already), but Im holding out for a interview in Texas. I just don't know how long I should wait.

I'm in a similar situation. I live in Texas but basically went to a school in Georgia due to an issue with my program. I graduated in fall 2019 but had a horrible time getting interviews because I have no connection to the hospitals out here and no experience other than clinical because we weren't allowed to work/do an externship during my program. I made the mistake of only applying to critical care positions for February 2020 and had no luck, so now I am casting a wider net hoping to get something for July. It's so competitive in Dallas.

I really feel this. It is so competitive. And to make it all worse I’m graduating with my ADN so it makes my chances even slimmer.

I’m the same way! I’m one of three people in my cohort who hasn’t received a job offer (one of the other girls is pregnant so just hasn’t applied). The job market here is completely different. Most people had their offers before Christmas so it’s been so, so stressful. I didn’t want to but I’ve put in some applications here just in case....

Yeah about half of my cohort has jobs lined up or are doing interviews and we don’t graduate until May. The only reason I haven’t put in any applications here yet is because the hospitals here like to extend offers or decline within a week of putting in your application. So I don’t want to accept something here right now and miss out on a chance to go back home to my family in Texas.

Does anyone know any of the recruiters for Methodist?

Has anyone heard anything yet or happen to know the timeline?

I still haven't heard anything. 3 of my applications say they are processing and the rest all say that I'm being actively considered but I feel like that doesn't mean anything bc I haven't heard anything .

I applied to ED, Critical Care, and NICU. I haven’t heard a word from Methodist about anything. I saw the recruiter at UTA and she was super sweet, but I’m not sure when they usually get back to people. I keep getting emails inviting me to apply, but I’m like, “I did. I did” LOL. I have no idea what their hiring process is like, but it doesn’t sound like anyone has heard anything. So I’m chalking that up to good news.

Has anyone seen a labor and delivery position pop up? I’ve been checking everyday, but I still haven’t seen one.
