Mercy College of Health Sciences ABSN 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey Everyone.

I wanted to start this for anyone who is applying or did MCHS ABSN program before.

I got accepted into the Sp 20 program but deferred it to Su 20 because it was too late of a notice. Is anyone coming out of state? Also has anyone applied for their scholarships? If anyone has done the program already please drop some tips/comments below! Thanks

Congratulations!

I am still waiting on admissions. I hope to hear from them by the end of the month, if not then I will follow up.

How does the process work? I just submitted my transcript via email and I was told they will be able to review my file for admission after the registrar's office evaluate my transcript. Is that how it works?

Thank you!! Where are you from? Regarding the transcript situation, I applied through NursingCAS so they had my transcript anyway... double check with them on Monday first thing to see if they received yours. I know if you send it electronically it takes 1- 3 days for it to arrive. Then another few days for them to evaluate. Hope this helps! Keep me posted

Thanks. I am from Massachusetts. I will keep you posted!

Hello all!

I've been accepted for Summer 2020 as well. Glad we all have this platform to communicate with each other. I'll be moving from California ?

Hi I got accepted for Sp 2021. Also coming from CA, the Bay Area. Any idea how transferring back to CA works? I am hesitant to move I don’t want any problems with the CA BON. Are you 100% certain we can come back

Basically towards the end of your program you apply for licensure in whatever state you want. Then once you pass the NCLEX, that info is sent to the national database and submitted to your state specific licensure application (it doesn't matter what state you take the actual exam in). I don't know of any limitations as far as states go, it'd be worth your time to call/email you BON for clarification. But to my knowledge, you can basically transfer licensure to any state, as long as you pay the fees

Hi thanks for replying. I have heard CA is very very very very picky when it comes to taking NCLEX here after completion of a program in another state. CA BON has ridiculous wait times over the phone, but I did send them an email. I’ll have to go up to Sac to talk with them in person, but we are battling wildfires here in the Bay Area. Thanks for responding

Hi, did you get in??

Did you get in?

I've been accepted for the Spring 2021! If there is anyone else going into this term or any current students here, I'd love to chat!

Hi Negin,

I am from California to and was also accepted into the Spring 2021 cohort have you heard anything from CA BON about the licensure process?

Thanks,

Anne

Yes, they will not accept this program for licensure by Rec. or by examination. Do not attend this program if you are trying to move back to California.

Hey Negin,

I was curious to know where you got this information. I’m also trying to get information about this school and CA licensure. I contacted MCHS and was told that several people currently in the program are applying for CA licensure and they recently were approved. I’m still trying to get in contact with CA BON as well to confirm. I appreciate your feedback!

@Jess321 I got accepted too but I won't be going due to issues with the board. I finally got in contact with them and it seems to be the total units in the program and the curriculum sadly ? this is the link they provided for me.
