Hi I'm creating a group for all the people who got accepted to Mercy ABSN fall 2019 in ny . It's a new program which also help out transfer CNR student finish there degree and I hope we could shared our thoughts for other incoming students. I was called around July 9th and told I was accepted and waiting for my officially letter package in the mail. I'm excited and nervous at the same time.
I am interested in the accelerated program. Does anyone know how the GPA is calculated for admission requirements? It is your Bachelor degree GPA only or does it include all classes you have taken since graduation. My BS GPA is only a 2.7 but I have since made all A's in more recent classes.

They average in your bachelors gpa and prerequisites gpa together and then useThe grade they get from that as your overall gpa

Thank you so much for answering. I applied to another accelerated program and they didn't care that I now have A's. They only used my old GPA which made me feel like my recent hard work has been for nothing...so this is good news. It's hard to find out about Mercy's program so I appreciate the help.?

Happy to help! I had a 2.7 bachelors gpa too but my prerequisites made it into a 3.0 and they accepted me into the program so you definitely have a shot.
Hi everyone!
I hope you all are doing well in the program! I just have a few questions & I hope if any of you get some free time, you guys can give me some advise. I've decided to apply for the ABSN program for fall 2020. However, I have an associates degree where my overall GPA was a 3.7, and when I received my BS degree from Mercy, my overall GPA was a 3.1, so will they factor both of those GPA's when making their acceptance decision? Or, will they only use the BS degree GPA?
Also, my biggest worry right now is that I received a C+ in Micro & in Chem; however, I received an A- in A&P l & Psych. Although I received those 2 C's my GPA is still over a 3.0 due to my other grades. I am taking A&P ll this semester, where I am going to work my butt off to get an A to keep my GPA over a 3.0.
Do you guys think I will have a shot at getting into the program although I have those 2 c's? I'm scared because I really want this, but I was rejected from the Montefiore school of nursing about a month ago. I just hope they give me a shot!
Hi everyone!
I just decided that I’m going to be making a career change to nursing so I am doing a lot of research right now on different programs. I’m interested in applying for the ABSN program probably in 2021 but I was curious how the class schedules were like. Unfortunately I would have to work full time while go to nursing school and trying to find the best options. If someone who has taken this program before or currently in could give me some insight would be greatly appreciated! Also, if anyone knows how much the program is or what it is each semester.
Thanks in advance and good luck to everyone that is currently taking the program or who will be starting it soon!
Hello,
I am interested in this program and I had a few questions for the students that are in the program. how is the program going for everyone that started in fall 19? What kind of preparation do they offer for the NCLEX and what is the passing score? Where is the program located because I see they have different campuses. Do they offer help for students for jobs after graduation? Thank you in advance!

I'm currently looking at both of these schools now and wondering which you ended up choosing and why? Thanks so much for your insight!

Congrats and thanks for making this group! I was just accepted but I am trying to decide if I want to attend Mercy or CMSV. I don't have much info on Mercy ABSN because it's a new program. Also I couldn't find the total cost of the program. I saw how much per a semester, but I couldn't figure out all the fees and such.
Hi all! I've just been admitted for Summer 2020 at Mercy accelerated program and I'd love to hear from some of you who are currently in the program. Love to hear about your experience and thoughts... Do you feel like you're being well educated and well prepared? Well supported? I know the NCLEX pass rates for the first traditional four-year program were not great and they responded quickly by implementing a NCLEX preparation as part of the program, which sounds helpful and hopeful. What about the clinical sites; where are they? (What hospitals and institutions) and how good you feel they have been. Thanks in advance for any guidance you have!!

@Kkeefer Yes thank you, hows the exams going? Difficult? Are the professor explaining what to study or expect in the exams?
