Mercy University ABSN Fall 2023

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everyone! I was recently accepted into the Accelerated BSN program 2 days ago! I haven't seen any threads so far of any one stating they've been accepted or decided to commit. I'm just kinda nervous in regards to a few things so I wanted to see what others were thinking or if anyone has more info on the program. I need testimonials btw the NCLEX pass rate and the cost of tuition.. is it really worth it. The only thing is it's the only place I've heard back fr and they want the deposit end of the week.. I was waiting on a SUNY but I don't feel like waiting to hear back would be a good idea. My uncle is a nurse & got into my head ab cost, loans etc as this is my 2nd degree.. So I'm kinda starting this just to get others talking and see what yall are thinking & if any previous students see this post feel free to comment.

I'm patiently waiting on a response from Mercy's Fall Weekend ABSN still! Congrats on your acceptance. How did you hear first, e-mail or checking the Mercy application portal?

And if you don't mind sharing your GPA and pre reqs stat as well.

Thank you! I got the regular email letting me know there was an admissions decision & it linked me to the portal, I submitted end of Jan, but got all reccs and such early Feb. My overall GPA was like 2.8, but science/pre-reqs were like 3.1. I think I have really great experience after undergrad and recommendations.

You should hear back soon. They want deposit after 5 days so I'm sure after ppl don't pay they'll reach out to others.

ah okay gotcha! I submitted later so should be hearing soon! if you check the previous threads on mercy college ABSN you'll get more info from the 2021/2022 cohorts. I haven't read anything bad, everyone so far likes the program and the flexibility. I also think its a personal decision- I think the loans will be easy to pay off so I'd accept, however if costs really matter to you there are cheaper programs. Don't let anyone get into your head- meditate on it and figure out the logistics!

I'm also waiting to hear back! Around what time did they send you an email?

Specializes in Occupational Health.

Total cost of the program is $59,335 (a lot!). What do you owe on your previous degree(s)? How are you planning on paying living expenses (rent, food, etc) while in the program.

As a side note...working in an ABSN program is highly discouraged and ill-advised.

hi, I applied for this fall start of 2023, but OMG this is expensive. I live in ORegon and would need to move for a year. With the cost of school and living not sure how I would do it. I too am trying to find more information from instructors and students, but I keep getting pushed off or an email saying someone will contact me. I'd like to know more and hear testimonials of other students about the program as well. Let's connect.

Hey! I was recently accepted so I can tell you my very young experience but I also connected with someone who just graduated. They said that the ABSN students have high NCLEX scores but when you combine the scores with the traditional 4 year nursing students, the scores go down.

So far, communication has been great. They are giving us the TEAS test post acceptance just in order to gauge our weaknesses and our strengths. Depending on our scores, we would get help of some sort- not sure yet but I think that's great that they didn't require the TEAS but are using it after the fact as a tutoring thing instead of another barrier to entry.

I only got 9,500 in federal loans for the first year, fall and Spring (22,106) so the rest will be from my savings/scholarships (if I can get them)/private loans. I'm working while I'm in the program since I'm in the weekend accelerated program.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply. I'm thinking about going to the  Iowa campus. It's full time one year. I only have $ 12, 500 for fed loan left. The rest will be private loan . I will apply for some scholarship but that's usually only a few grand, but anything helps. No entrance exam for me. Just have to have all the pre recs done.  I already have an BS. This is the ABSN program.
If you learn of anyone who has gone through the Iowa mercy program please message me. All the Mercy college are different.
I wish you all the best and congratulations on your acceptance! Exciting!
