I've got to decide where to go, but I'm only getting biased answers.. Can you tell me about each program in regards to difficulty of admission, who has the best rep, what grads are the most sought after, etc.
Baptist College of Health Sciences
University of TN
University of Memphis
Union University
Thank you guys so much!

What are you looking for? First bachelor's for you? Second? Do you have work or family obligations? Previous science background?
Each of these schools produces lots of great nurses every year, but they do not pursue the same student demographic.
Highest admission requirements - Union. why? they do a dazzlingly fast-fast track to second degree bsn.
Very competitive - UT, but again, it's because the program is swift moving water and academically you need to be able to keep up. This is a new program and all that that implies.
Very competitive - U of Memphis. Slower paced if you need that, fast paced if you can handle it. Find out how many students they admit every semester and how many leave. Its academically rigorous, but they are much more likely to give a chance to a less-than-perfect applicant.
Good school - Baptist. Don't let anyone tell you that Baptist isn't a good school. Look at the pass rates and ask around town about real nurses who went there.
Also rans - Southwest, Northwest, Tenn Tech. ADN programs, and it sounds like you want a bachelors. If you need to get working quicker, consider one of these.
All these schools are different. Think about what you want out of school and find the school that fits you. You can get a great education at any of these schools, but you need to decide for yourself which one works best for you. Good luck.
Thank you for replying so quickly!
I'm a sophomore at Memphis right now, so I am looking for a BSN program. That being said, I have zero obligations.
I am a biology major with several semesters of bio and chem along with calculus and statistics, so I've got a bit of a background.
Here is the issue I'm faced with:
I did not decide to apply for nursing school until most deadlines had passed. Now the only left is Baptist.. (their deadline in June 1). I just applied to Baptist this past week and they haven't gotten my transcript in the mail yet so it'll be a week or two before I know if I got in or not. Do you know how competitive Baptist is? (avg gpa??)
BUT..
If I get in, do I go to Baptist?
Do I wait and go to Memphis next semester?
I want to go to the school that will prepare me the most, and provide the most job options, along with looking good if I decide to get a masters.
I'm sorry for asking so many questions, I just don't know what to do! Thank you so much for your help!:bowingpur:yeah:
Feel free to pm me. I have some suggestions for you.

All of the schools there a great. The U Of M and Baptist are more intense. Southwest is a two yr. program and they are wonderful as well.

I went to Union's Accelerated program for students with BS in another discipline. They also have a 14 month program for students with quite a few credits but lacking an official degree (B.S.). Feel free to PM me.
