I just wanted to start a thread for anyone out there applying to Memorial Hermann's Nurse Residency for Summer 2016!!

Does this residency require you to sign a contract?

For those who will be working at Childrens-TMC, I was just informed that the start date will be July 1st. Now I'm not sure if that's for everyone in the residency, or if it's specifically the NICU, I have no clue! But I was told July 1st for the start date.

Did you hear this from a recruiter or new hire service?

I heard from a recruiter that I had been asking and emailing back and forth. But I'm still waiting to hear from new hire services, so that everything is official.

Has anyone heard from New Hire Services? && does anyone know anything about Gables Post Oak apartments, located near the galleria I believe? I am trying to find a place, but Its hard to know if it is a good, safe area or not since I live out of state and wont be in Houston until I officially move

Gables Post Oak is in a nice area but I'm not sure about crime rate or flood zone. The galleria in general is a great area. We haven't heard anything yet I don't think. By we I mean my friend who got hired with me in TMC lol

Thank you for replying!! Do you think it will be a bad drive commuting from that area to Children's? & I hope they send us something soon from new hire!
