Memorial Hermann Summer 2016 Residency

I just wanted to start a thread for anyone out there applying to Memorial Hermann's Nurse Residency for Summer 2016!!

So I just read through like 98% of these posts lol and I'm attempting to respond to as many as possible. I got a call for Match Day on March 9 (and promptly started freaking out). My #1 choice is NICU and I asked the recruiter if I had the opportunity to interview for my second choice L&D (which on the application I put ED, because I didn't know I could put Women's Services twice lol) and she said YES, if I don't get offered a position in the NICU and there are still spots in L&D, but that the interview will be at a later date. I'm glad someone knew there were 8 NICU spots available, but yikes, no pressure. I wonder how many people are applying to the NICU positions? I have four Letters of Recommendation, all professors. Too many?! ALSO, I found out that you MAY get offered a job on the spot right after the interview! Here's hoping that happens for all of us! And I'm sure someone said it but I missed it, any idea how long until we get a call about being offered a job? And I am wearing a black pant suit with a blue striped shirt, simple jewelry (pearls), and black flats (too tall for heels). You may or may not recognize my red hair too; come say hi! And finally, my recruiter told me to BRING SOMETHING TO DO because the afternoon will have a lot of waiting around. Just in case someone didn't get this memo!

This is my first RN job interview and I'm freaking out (AEB my rambling). SORRY Y'ALL. See y'all Tuesday bright and early!

Good luck to you! The NICU is my first choice as well! Hopefully we all get a position!

Sounds like a lot of us want NICU! I'm so excited for Tuesday. I don't want to get my hopes up but a nurse I talked to said the number might actually be higher than 8, and that the NICU may be looking to hire up to 15. I hope that's true, see you all on Tuesday!

i surely do hope that's the case!!! & I wonder why they say we have to wait so long on match day.

What's a good reason to say when they ask you why you want to work for Memorial Hermann? Also, does anybody know what Match Day is like and how the interview process is?
