I too thought A&P was going to be a challenege. I had a friend that hasn't passed it 2x. I love this class. This is actually the only class I have an A in. LOL!! The other classes are PSY and ENG. Sad ain't it. LOL!! Anyhow I love how yall related the bones. I loved that chapter. By far my fave chapter is the Endocrine System. I don't know what it is about it but its just intriguing to me how the little tissues are what makes us the great beings we are. LOL!!

I am so glad you posted this. I am sitting here looking at my computer book and I could surely use the extra money. I have bought books on Half.com and feel really good about them but this computer book has to go, it is cluttering my desk. LOL!!

Talk about reading the book. I just took Med Term (I am in a LPN program) and passed the class with flying colors. I am still reading the book. LOL!!! Now I am reading my Pharm book and I won't have that class till at least Sept. LOL!! This quarter I am taking A&P, ENG, and PSY and I have yet to see any of those books, yet but I know between the 3 I will be reading for cover to cover on all books.

I am taking my classes online too. It is kind of hard to know what's on the test but luckily my teachers post notes on each chapter and I am pretty much able to guage what will be on the test based on those notes.

Last qtr I had Math and I didn't have the $$ to buy the book so I really used the teachers notes. Guess what I got a B in the class. :chuckle

and its about 4,000. All covered by the Pell and Hope grants here in Georgia. There is even $200 for books. My school is cheap a full load of classes 12+ credits are only $450 per quarter.

My uniform and everything else is extra.
    Not bad!

    Hey yall,

My name is Chanel I am currently entering my second quarter for my pre-reqs. I have Psy, A&P and English this coming quarter and that will be it for them. My pre-reqs don't have to be done until January and the decision comes in February if I will be choosen for the LPN program. Now may question for you is what should I do in Fall, Winter and Spring Quarters because I won't have any classes that I need. I thought about taking some degree classes offered at my school but I am in a technical school and I am not sure what their feelings are in that regard. There is also a Health Care Assistant outline that I could follow. I could become certified as a Secretary or Transcriptionist (neither I want!) but I am not sure those are selling skills for a LPN. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks for yall time and I enjoy this board a lot!

    Hey yall,

I start A&P this summer. My classes don't start till July 6 so I am on my 4 week break. Spring just ended a week ago and I am really looking forward to A&P.

Thanks for the awesome link to the quizzes. I can't remember the name off the top of my head but that link will be at the top of my FAVES as soon as the quarter starts. I don't expect for it to be too hard. I am also taking English, PSY during summer too so I can't wait to see how interesting this summer will be. These are the final of my pre-reqs, I apply to enter the program till January and the program doesn't start till Summer Qtr so I need to find something to do between Fall, Winter and Spring Quarter. I thought about taking up Plebotomy in those months at another school just so I have something else to do.

I love hearing yall updates and everything.

I agree with the above poster. CMAs are not above LPNs. Here in Atlanta CMA make an average of $25.5K while LPNs make average $34.6K. That's after a little research on Monster.com, Payscale.com and Salary.com

Check them out for you area it will give you a better idea. Out of the 3, I liked Salary.com best.

OMG, I thought it was just me!! I just finished my Med Term class. I didn't get the book till about 3 weeks ago and until then I had been making flash cards, using online resources and I took this class online. On my final today I got a 76 which is pretty good considering I didn't have my book till recently. I ended up with a C in the class and haven't decided whether I should take it over again. Any advice? Should I take it again? I was thinking of meeting with my advisiors but I am pretty sure they will probably advise me to take it again.

I do have to admit I have retained quite a bit and it should help me in Anatomy in Summer quarter. Those flash cards are valuable. I even have my 9 year old interested into Medicine.

I love coming here and getting advice. I am enrolled at Gwinnett Tech in the LPN program. I won't start classes until next spring since that's there only time for entrance. I am taking all my pre-reqs now and I just wondered if there is anyone else out there enrolled?

    Have a great one

    Hey everyone,

Atlanta area members in the FOX 5 Atlanta viewing area. Yall need to watch the I-Team report on those medical schools. They are doing a story tonight at 10 about the schools and how some of them are truely scams.

Just wanted to let everyone know.

    Hey everyone,

My name is Chanel and I live in Atlanta with my DH and 3 kids. Brianna 8, Jarod 4 and Alyssa 3. I got my hands full for sure. I am starting school Spring Quarter and taking my PreReqs for the LPN course, all of which can be taken online which is great. The school that I am going to only admits to the LPN program in Spring so I have all year to do my prereqs and I can get a certificate as a Medical Unit Secretary or Transcription while I am waiting for Spring 06 to get it all together. I figure me getting that certificate will benefit me a lot since it seems tha LPNs are mostly in DR offices and Nursing homes and I can be more marketable to my employeers.

I can't wait to get to know yall here. I know I will be here till at least 07 and then I am off to get my RN whether it be BSN or ADN I haven't decided yet.

    Hi,

I am in the Atlanta area and the choices are wide. I would first start a Emory website. http://emory.hr.emory.edu/careers.ns...d?OpenDocument

Then there is Dekalb Medical (Promina) https://www.promina.org/asp/jobs/JobSearch.asp?LIDS=4 and Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta http://www.choa.org/careeropportunit...ult.asp?id=447. It really depends on which direction you want to go. I hope this helps out some.
