Well my fellow nurses, our President has passed the healthcare bill....what do you think? now just from the few things i have pulled out of the bill, I can't see how any of this will hurt us. If anything i think it would help alot. We will be looking at alot of new hires, due to the demands of nurses and doctors (not like the "demand" now... yeah right) RN's will be looking at a little stress off them because NAI, NAII, and LPN/LVN, will be adding to thier scope of practice, Which inturn means that we would need to fight for better pay (some how I don't think it will be just given) and also means that more Hospitals are going to be kicking out more money to further the education of their staff ($$$ more money that is not going to be taken out of our pockets). And not to meantion rebates given left and right for the money that people are going to have pay for there medicine (which however is going to be decreased by almost 50%). This is just some of the good i see out of it. Feel free to comment.....thanks!
So I'm wondering how many of you work with a Doctor that really practice like the TV counterpart Dr. House? I mean I sure the writers are getting these ideas from some Rebel Doc out there...right?
YES! Esp. Time Warner Cable, that why I'm in such a rush to finish school! We're always getting written up for sales....I mean I don't know how many of you have TWC for anything? But I know you are paying an arm and leg for it, and then you have people that are still without jobs and they expect us to sale these people new service....and pay for it how???? GESH!
So I saw a page where all these RN's were posting how much they make well CNA's.....lets represent and tell our pay also...lol
LETS GO BABY!!!
So I'm watching television.... nursing and hospital shows of course...and they are always showing someone in these shows who is in love with another nurse, or doctor and they always end up having sex while in the hospital. My question is does this really go on at the workplace? How many of you have witness this, heard about it happening, or was one of the parties involved?
Thanks for the feed back ladies and gents! Just what I was looking for...
I would like to know as a future nurse, do alot of you deal with racism by patients? How do you deal with it, and how do they treat you if they allow you to help them? Thanks
is it me or do I see an increase of pay for CNA's? yahoo jobs, monster.com, indeed.com all list CNA jobs starting around 11.00-14.50/ hr for NC locations. I think thats a whole lot better than what I use to see on these website even 6 months ago. Feel free to let me know what you have seen and witness dealing with the pay. Don't forget to let me know where you are from.
Okay I decided I think I want to teach CNA classes...but do I need to have CNA experience before I can do that? or do I have to get my RN first? I think I would really like to teach, instead of working in the position
I'm wondering when I should start applying for a CNA position? I start my CNA courses in March and will finish in the beginning of May. Do I need to wait until I take my state exam to begin applying for CNA positions? Or is it even an option to apply before I get my CNA certification from the state?
Thanks in Advance
I'm a black male nursing student, hope to so be nurse. I'm moving back home to Charlotte in the fall to attend UNCC, maybe we'll be in a couple of classes together... Are you currently working in the medical field?
okay I need as much help as I can get with this question...I always hear people talk about srubs techs, med techs, surgical techs, etc. and all they may have is their CNA? What options are open to me, once I get my CNA...besides being a CNA? Don't get me wrong I don't mind being a CNA and getting my hands dirty, but I asking so I know what other careers doors I could knock on while in Nursing school...GOTTA PAY DEM BILLS BABY!!!!
Thanks in Advance everyone.
So there is alot of jobs that are asking for at least 6 months to 1 year exp. and I'm wondering can i not use the hours I have doing clinicals in my CNA classes as working exp.? please help I'm starting my nursing program at UNCC in the Fall 10 but still have bills and I child I need to take care of while attending school.
Thanks in advance....
So I'm taking CNA classes starting in March, and as long as everything goes well should finish in May. I'm relocating back home to Charlotte, NC after I'm done with classes. My question to you is...What are my chances of getting hired in a Hospital setting and making atleat $11/hr before shift diff. and weekend prem.?
Thanks in Advance
uummm....the women duh! no seriously, I chose to be a nurse mostly because I like to help people and hate feeling caged in a cube with a cpu and a phone. I mean the $$$ for nursing isn't that bad as well!
