About GoofyBlondeChic

Hi all. I'm new to the board and happy to be here. I actually have quite a bit of education under my belt in the Nursing field; though only lacked the 2 A & P and 1 Microbiology to enter the Nursing clinicals. I guess you could say that I lost faith in myself and my abilities when I went through my divorce in 2007. I am trained also as an Emergency Medical Responder and have an innate curiosity of all things medical.

Yeah, but did you like it? It's sick to think about, it really is. But I love watching that crap...lol.

Would someone explain how to delete this particular post above please? I meant to attach it to a previous comment. TIA
  3. Non-FIT Nurses and FIT Nurses

Oh my. You had me at Dr Who. I love that show......along with some boneless, buffalo wings and bleu cheese...or potato chips....and peanut M&M's (I save the dark brown ones for last).
  4. Non-FIT Nurses and FIT Nurses

Oh my geezers. I love that stuff on Youtube. I could watch them popping cysts, lancing boils and extracting blackheads for hours on end. I have no idea why I find it so fascinating.

  6. I am NOT a Nurse...

...about that name tag thing. The company machine is still broken.
  7. I am NOT a Nurse...

Wow, I had no idea that this would bring so many responses; but I am glad that it did. Rest assured that I do not work outside of my scope of practice nor do I even remotely consider myself a Nurse. I have corrected my client many times on it; but he...
  8. What grosses you out?

I think that now the only thing that makes me gag is the smell of C-Diff stools. Though I do remember, being sent to a hall where a resident was actively in the process of passing. I have a few things that irk me, bad mouth and naval care. So I went ...
  9. Preparing for resident death

I think that Southern said it best; you just love them through it. It does get easier as each one passes. In time you'll even find a moment to laugh about something silly that one of your deceased residents did or said and it will bring good memories...
  10. CNA Question

I can honestly say that you do get used to it. Some good advice my instructors told me about was to use Vicks Vaporub in your nostrils. I didn't really need it past the first few days, as I generally have a cast iron stomach. But I can honestly say t...
  11. Does. Anyone like their CNA job??

I love my job as a CNA. I work in Home Healthcare myself and it seems to fit me best. I worked from 2008-2012 in LTC and hated almost every minute of it. I couldn't stand the 'herd' mentality that was expected. Our residents were so cheated because w...
  12. I am NOT a Nurse...

MrChicago. I can say that he has his moments. According to his care plan he is A&O3. He has been more forgetful lately. I like the Goofy part. It's definitely descriptive of my personality. lol
  13. I am NOT a Nurse...

I do correct my client and he says that he understands. But he calls me his nurse because I see him more than his real nurse does. It does drive me nuts though. Should I pursue it by the higher ups, so that it doesn't get me into trouble?
  14. I am NOT a Nurse...

Greetings all. I have a weird question for ya'll. I work in Home Healthcare as a CNA and often my clients call me a Nurse. I have no idea why, but it irks me. I don't even remotely consider myself a Nurse. I may have begun that journey, but chickened...
  15. Is it even worth it anymore?

Hi Trebleclef. I'm a newbie on the board and am only a CNA. But what I can say is; I think it's worth it, if it's something that you want bad enough. When we lose a family member, it changes who we are. We have a tendency to over-think ourselves and ...
