I was there the day Mel gave Mr. Puggles that shot. I TOLD him to check the order but NO, he was a know it all even in 1981. So we patched him up with tape and gave him a little 02 and he was good as new. Mel was hailed as a hero for his quick action in saving the patient.

Yeah, Mel was hailed for his judicious application of duct tape with Mr. Puggles, but even Mel isn't infallible. Remember that time when he was chastising Mr. Higginbottom for lying, and Doc Watson overheard him as he walked by, then stuck his head in the room and said "No, Mel, I said Mr. H had A-fib, not that he told a fib!".

And a Tib!

Mel was proud of himself now. The Dr. had only thought the patient had a-fib, but Mel knew the patient ALSO had a-tib. Sometimes doctors miss things!
