Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines

Published

Hi! Anyone who had their quantiferon test positive? Thanks!

Hi all,

Filipino nurse here. :)

Few questions:

1. Is it really required to request CHED school accreditation and send it directly to APHRA?

2. Are there any documents need to be sent directly from school to APHRA? Or just include your authenticated TOR, RLE, Diploma, and Course description with your AGOS-40 application?

3. What documents you have from PRC? License, Board certificate, Board rating, and Good standing (direct) only? because some says need also to request this "Certificate of Board Passing"

4. Is the time deposit can use as a proof of funds when applying for visa?

5. Anyone here went with a dependent (also nurse) while undergoing BP? Approximately how much is need for BP with dependent need to show? Any comment regards with this?

6. Are documents from Philippines can only authenticated in Philippines? or can even in other country. :)

Thanks in advance :) :) :)

Hi guys! I'm a new member to this forum so please excuse if I have posted a similar topic earlier. I will be in Australia on a partner visa and will be applying for APHRA registration before I can enroll myself to a BP. However, I will be processing it all by myself. Can anyone please explain to me what "Professional Indemnity Insurance Arrangement" is all about? What kind of documents under this section shoud I provide? Need your help badly.

That is required only when you practice nursing already, of course, after being registered. The form simply instructs you that it is a requirement inorder to practice and you only have to answer YES.

1. Essentially NO because technically nursing graduates of Philippine schools do not qualify to criteria 2 & 3 but some Registration Officers require such documentation. Basically just go to CHED, bring the format, (usually they have already), pay the fees, get the signed document and send it via registered mail... in many instances CHED does not do the mailing themselves.

2. Documents from the school need to be sent in a separate sealed envelop which you can enclose with your other documents. But COGS from PRC need to be sent separately.

3. Only the COGS have to be sent directly from PRC. If the PRC office you transact with does not have facility for mailing, you can mail it yourself using the PRC address of course via courier or registered express mail.

4. There is no description whether the proof of sufficiency of funds be in regular savings deposit or time deposit. The important thing is that such amount is in your name and accessible to you.

5. No definite requirement. At the very least, the Case Officer must see that the funds is enough to support you and your partner during your stay but this is largely arbitrary. You can even use the bank certification of the funds to be used for your BP enrolment.

6. Authentication and certification can be done in any country... it is free is Australia once you're here already but the cheapest when not yet in Australia would be there in the Philippines. The certification simply states that such document is a true copy of the original as presented.

Hello! My wife is planning on studying in AU and we've already sought AMS Global's assistance and required us with 1year of clinical experience. Currently we are employed as SMEs at a BPO company, roughly 7 years now. The plan is for her to take the bridging program from CQU and they are requiring us first to have the "Referral Letter" from AHPRA. Is it the process in which she needs to request for a COGS from PRC? Appreciate all your help in advance!

Posted this about the AHPRA application process a few months back. Some of this will change sometime next year, though, when the new registration pathway is implemented.

Hi guys. I just want to seek some advice to my questions. My loe is about to expire on march 2019. I applied in Deakin Uni for january intake. Unluckily, they will not give me an offer letter as long as i cant provide an extension from ahpra. So i email ahpra immediately and asked if they can issue me an extension letter of my loe. However, ahpra dont want to give me extension unless i can secure a certificate of enrolment from school. Im a bit confused how to do it. If i dont have any choice maybe i will reapply again to ahpra. My questions are:

1. Is it ok to reapply to ahpra again even though my loe is not yet expired?

2. Do i need to get again an ICHC check?

3. How about the COGS?

Your answer will be much appreciated.

Thank you so much in advance

For the first question, I think only AHPRA can answer that. I suggest you try calling them instead of just sending an email. For the ICHC and COGS which are valid only for 3 months, you can execute a statutory declaration instead of applying for new ones.

So sad that applicants had to endure this when, technically AHPRA can simply issue extension for a short period say 3 more months but I guess this has to do with the implementation of the new pathway sometime next year. Just my conjecture though.

Have you tried calling AHPRA? Maybe you can get more details from calling rather than by email?

Yes, you can reword the statdec like what we do in an affidavit, just be sure to include those declarations about the law it is based on.
