Hi guys,Can anyone give a clear idea on the process of Registering as nurse in Australia. Went through AHPRA website too. Things seem to be different with the new immigration rules therefore I would greatly appreciate if anyone can list
1. the documents and
2. the process in step by step form.
I suggest you read through this thread and the website too to understand fully the requirements and its "Step by step" process. The "new immigration" rules does not apply directly to nurses as well. Here's a brief process.
1. IELTS
2. Apply for registration thru AHPRA
3. Registration refusal - Referral to BP
4. Do BP with an NMBA approved bridging program of study
5. Reapply registration thru AHPRA again this time attaching your course completion
6. Your name appears on the AHPRA website.
7. Apply ANMAC modified skills assessment
8. Wait for Letter of determination (LOD) from ANMAC
9. Once LOD is issued, lodge Expression of interest (EOI) thru DIBP
10. Get invited to lodge PR
11. Apply PR 189 or 190 whatever you prefer as RN's is still on the SOL or the new MLTSSL.
12. Wait
13. Permanent resident
:)

Oh I forgot to mention, if what you were just asking about being a registered nurse in Australia, then just stop at number 6 mentioned above. When your name appears on the AHPRA website, this simply means that you are an active registered nurse in Australia. Meaning you can practice your profession.
