Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines

Published

Guys I need help. I am currently working overseas and my contract is due to expire on March 2018. After that I want to do the bridging program in Australia and apply to AHPRA. Around April 2018. My concern is, if I apply right now, would the Letter of Eligibility be expired by then? If they approve applications as fast as a month or two months time? Thanks for the help!

LOE validity is 1 year.

Hi sir it was actually my initial plan however, when i checked for the serology test prices here in the philippines it was very expensive that is why ive decided to take first the vaccine then proceed to serology..sir if you dont mind, do you have any idea if the polio vaccine being given in the healthcenter for babies are applicable to adults as well. Its so hard to find polio vaccine here..

Hello. For adults, IPV is being given. I assume you lost your childhood immunization record?

Good day everyone. Ask ***********, need ***** ****** requirements ****** ******? Thanks **

The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) has received your application for registration.

Your application will be reviewed and if it is not considered to be complete under the relevant section of the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (the National Law) we will contact you to request the additional information required for assessment to commence.

Please do not respond to this auto-generated email.

this was the e-mail i received from ahpra.

Hi did you submit the documents from ched aswell? Thank you.

Hi Gara13. For me, nope. I did not bother doing it. In order for us to be accepted for registration, our application will be assessed against the 8 Qualification Criteria for internationally qualified RNs. See http://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/Registration-and-Endorsement/International/Meeting-the-registration-requirements.aspx. We need to meet criteria 1, 4, 5, and 7 at least to be referred to a NMBA-approved bridging program. Criteria 2, 3, 6, and 8 on the other hand are the reasons why we must undergo BP to be on par with the Australian standard of nursing education. I hope this helps :)

Thanks paul_rn, would you mind if i ask you when did you submit your application? And how long it took? Thanks heaps.

Of course I wouldn't mind and I'm glad I could be of help :) I would like to share with you and to those just starting what I have submitted to AHPRA (WA). I just submitted my application 1st week of this month :p

1. CTC of the following:

-- passport

-- birth certificate (actually, only submitting a passport will do as a minimum identity requirement for those applying overseas but I just added this as an additional identity document).

-- educational transcript, RLE, diploma, course/subject description

-- board certificate, board rating, PRC ID

-- employment certificate, job description, training certificates, skills checklist

2. Original document:

-- CV

3. Print out:

-- ICHC reference page (the result will be forwarded to AHPRA)

4. Photocopy:

-- english test result (if you completed your test within the past 2 years, only a copy will do)

*COGS from PRC to AHPRA via DHL only took 3 days (2 days earlier than my AGOS 40, which is also by DHL). My COGS was processed within the day. Just paid PHP200 to rush the process and the certificate was ready in 2 hours.

It took my application 15 working days before I got my referral to bridging letter. However, it took 4 working days upon AHPRA's receipt of my application before sending me an email that they have received my application.

Hi everyone, I just want to ask in AGOS 40,

no.4---choose proof of identity to submit? What should be marked in the choices? I have a copy of my passport to be submitted but in the choices of documents there is only overseas passport with aus visa.

no.12--- most recent registration, I've only been registered in the philippines ever since 2010 and after renewal my license is valid until 2020. Should I answer 2010-2020?

thanks

Hi sir, you're right ive lost my vaccination booklet because we transferred from 3 different houses in the past and according to my mom she can no longer where she kept it. IPV was quite expensive, i have tried to asked some hospitals about the cost of this vaccine and they've quoted that it ranges from 2k-2500. However, it is not available right now. Sir do u have any idea if opv can be accepted for school reqts?? Some of my friends suggested it.

No.4 -- Information about the minimum identity requirement can be found under Section C: Proof of Identity in the AGOS 40 form.

No. 12 -- Yes, you are correct.

Hi. In my case, I also don't have my vaccination record anymore. I just requested a certificate from my pediatrician (yup, she's still around) declaring all of my childhood vaccinations that she gave me.

About the polio vaccine, it is better to communicate with your school.
