Hi! I'm a newbie here in the forum and this forum is really a great help. I'm planning to do a DIY application for Australia through bridging course. I have some questions though... I hope somebody can help me out in the step by step process...
1. What is the minimal experience requirement for me to be able to apply for APHRA?
2. My trainings and seminars have already expired, do I still need to take CPE (continuing professional education / CPD (continuing professional development) units before I can apply? If so, what is the minimum unit requirement?
3. How much will I be able to spend for the whole process: from APHRA application, LOE, acquiring of visa, tuition fee, IRON PROGRAM with housing and food expenses, plane fare, to application of PR?
4. How long would it take for the whole process?
thank you in advance for the help and assistance! :)
Hi, I'm offered with BP for not meeting criteria 2,3,6&8. Any idea which BP is the best? Is the examination tough? I'm still considering it because I wonder if BP guarantee the registration in OZ. BTW, I'm studying for master at the moment. Will it be advisable to drop my master & join BP? It's hard to choose either way

There is no such thing as "best BP". Learning depends on the students and not solely from the institute you are admitted on. Your goal is to learn the Australian standards and its healthcare system. Being a nurse in your initial place of practice, it is expected that you pretty much know the basics. Look at BP as a refresher course with a little bit of added knowledge and culture. Exam's from what I experienced was tricky but basic. All nurses and I mean all nurses can answer those questions. I suggest that you do a little bit of a research and consider the location, tuition fees, length of the BP and most importantly if it is an approved educational provider by AHPRA. After all, what matters is that your name is on the list of AHPRA's health practitioners.
BP does not guarantee registration. It does however, satisfy the criteria you lacked which is 2,3,6 and 8. There are also other factors such as identity, police checks, good standings etc. that one has to fulfill. That is why we need to reapply again after completing the bridging program and submit all the expired requirements that were sent the first time. :)
Master's vs BP is really up to you and what you prioritize on doing.
