Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines

Published

actually I am just about to take my BP this June 20 at IHNA my partner had her BP at the same campus and it was all good she said, although her placement was far from melbourne, but she had a decent job now at one of the largest private hospitals in Victoria as OR nurse, when I came here I already had a PR status because my partner included me in her application as a de facto for 190 skilled worker visa.

Hi rabuslon

Did you get an agent when she process her pr visa application or she did it all by herself? I am also eyeing for ihna melb this aug or sept.hopefully my loe will be released soon.

Hi rabulson

Is IHNA melbourne tuition fee still at aus10900? How many weeks BP? What visa did you apply for sir? Is show money needed for your visa? If their hospital placement is far from melbourne, do you mean that IHNA has no hospital of its own? I worry that after the class sessions, students are made to wait until hospital placements are available..??

@Mistyque88

We did not go through any agency when we process our Visa 190. We just read the requirements at immi.gov.au and asked some people pinoyau.info.

@Tonyang

I'm not sure about the current price but I inquired about their BP 2 months ago, its a total of 10 weeks. 3 weeks of classroom and 7 weeks of clinical placement. They will assign students for placement once all of the vaccines and tests are completed, unfortunately IHNA has no hospital of its own but it is affiliated with different hospitals around melbourne like John Fawkner Private hospital, If the immunizations and other requirements are not completed before the deadline, I think that is the time that students experience problem on having clinical placements. When my partner started her visa was visitors visa which is 600 I think and then after her BP she applied 190 skilled migrant visa since she already have her registration in ahpra.

Oh rabulson im also worried about those vaccines esp its schedule. I dont have my babybook anymore. What vaccines should i get? Do you have the schedule for this vaccines sir? When do you suggest should i get these vaccinces?

@Tonyang

It depends on the institute for like for example IHNA is asking for several vaccines and tests. here are the details that was given to me

Immunisation Form and how it should be done.

· We have given a list of 8 diseases to be considered , First you should do all the serology and then tests and at last the vaccinations so that it will be easy to schedule and easily you can finish.

· Mandatory Serology

1. Hep B – If Positive result then you can sent us the report, if its negative then you have to take vaccination and again you have to do serology to confirm it.

2. MMR - If Positive result then you can sent us the report, if its negative for any one also then you have to take all vaccination and again you have to do serology to confirm it.

3. Varicella - If Positive result then you can sent us the report, if its negative then you have to take vaccination and again you have to do serology to confirm it.

· Mandatory tests

4. Mantoux test

5. MRSA Culture Test

· Mandatory vaccinations

6. DTP – adult dose - Boostrix

7. Meningococcal Vaccination – Meningococcal ACWY 135

8. Influenza

· In the Immunisation Form Page no 5 should be signed & sealed by GP, also we need individual reports for all the serology & vaccinations and these reports also should be signed & sealed by GP.

Thank you Rabulson. May I ask where you got the serology tests? Do they have a particular/accredited hospital to have all these tests done? When did you accomplish this sir- before bp or during bp in australia? Must be costly...

Hi rabuslon,

Is it necessary to use the courier service of PRC? or I can send it anywhere in Manila via express service using the address of PRC as sender?

Thank you.. God Bless:)

Prc will ask you to send it privately. I just used their address even when I sent it from here

Hi. Does AHPRA require BP applicants to have hospital experience? If yes, how many months/years of experience is required? Thank you.
