Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines

Hello guys, i need your help. For those of you folks who are registered nurses in the PH but only has working experience in saudi, did ahpra require you to submit your saudi license as a registered nurse there? What if you are not a registered nurse in a saudi and only in the PH. What happens? Would that eventually lead me to being denied for either future registration or at the very least a brisging program? Please. Any input will be great. Thanks!

Hi bikwinibottom,

AHPRA does require you to submit all your registration history for the past 5 years. Looking at the AGOS- 40 form, page 6 Section F number 12. It asks for your "health practitioner registration history". It states that " if you have been registered outside of Australia, the NMBA requires a Certificate of good standing or CErtificate of registration status from every jursidiction outside of Australia in which you are currently, or have previously been, registered as a health practitioner during the past 5 years. Certifcates must be dated within three months of your application being received by AHPRA."

To answer your second question regarding a nurse who is only registered in the Philippines and not anywhere else, then he/she should provide AHPRA with ofcourse, the only registration they have which is yes, the Philippines.

Hello everyone!

Anyone here enrolled in IHNA Perth campus this coming May 23?

Spiccoli! Currently enrolled for Sept intake on the same campus. Let me know how it goes? Goodluck! :)

I see. Because I was going through NMBA's website and It said there that they will need proof for recency of practice and that my It should indicate that I have worked as a registered nurse. Technically I am not a registered nurse here in saudi and this is the only experience I have. They might not count my experience here valid as I am not registered. I was so confused I thought I had to take the prometrics.

Hello pipz.. Im confused what school to enrol for bridging program. I am living in brisbane.. we dont have any approved school here so I am open to any school. I have relatives in Adelaide but they say that they had problems after the bridging program. Anyone who can briefly describe me pros and cons of the schools =) thank you very much :)

Hi! Been doing some light reading about the schools you can avail of for BP. Sort of eyeing either Monash or Lonsdale in VIC.

Monash is a bit flexible. TF is 12500aud and the first 3-4 weeks for the theoretical lessons can ne done online so I guess you can do that while you are still in QLD. And then you have like roughly 8weeks or so to do the clinical. You can visit this link for a detailed version.

Internationally Qualified Nurse (IQN) Program

As for Lonsdale, you'll have to be there when the program starts. I think in Myrtleford however you may be assigned at a different location for the clinical. They do offer a package for transpo and accommodation if you dont have anywhere to go to. A bit pricey though, 18500aud. I had someone from Lonsdale email me a rate quote for their TF and scheduled intakes. If you want, I can send you a copy. Just let me know.

Hi, my ETEA letter of offer was finally out!

who's taking the June intake here?

Hi! Regarding the statement on the Cert of Reg which you quoted from the AGOS-40 form, may I clear out the meaning of ''within 3 mos of your application being received by AHPRA.'' Is this at most 3mos BEFORE or AFTER the receipt of application??

Hi everyone! I started browsing through similar topics on the internet this week since I got my IELTS result. I am currently in working Saudi Arabia and planning to submit my application for a Bridging Course to AHPRA asap. This forum has given me a great amount of information that I need on this matter. In lieu with this, I would like to ask for certain clarifications regarding some issues that are still vague to me. Thank you in advance!

1) Are the proofs of Identity (categories A, B, C, D) only applicable to applicants who are in Australia already? The following link (latter part of the last page) states that overseas applicants who cannot secure the reqts in all categories may only submit minimum identity requirements which is the overseas passport. https://www.ahpra.gov.au/documents/default.aspx?record=WD12%2f9373&dbid=AP&chksum=y%2bC%2bklcBCX%2bE6CcA6vJq3A%3d%3d

Did I understand this right? Which box will I tick in the AGOS-40 form for this one? I only found Overseas Passport with Australian Visa and the rest of the choices are not even applicable to me.

2) For the residential address and principal place of practice to be filled in the AGOS-40 form, which do you advice that I put? My address in the Phils where I used to work for 6 years or here in Saudi Arabia where I am working now for a year already? Won't there be conflicts?

3) In connection to #2, would it matter what address I put and from where I send my reqts? (Ex. saudi address, send reqts from Phils. Or the other way around), since I am planning to send my requirements to the Phils. for notarization and send all the reqts to AHPRA from there because there are still reqts that I am having secured there also. In short, I cannot come to the Phils yet as of now due to employment contract here. I will only exit here once there is an assurance in my application.

4) In connection to #3 again, is there a required time or deadline from the date when the notarization was signed/ stamped until the date when you submit the requirements? Like for a year or two only since it was notarized?

5) Btw, certified true copies (CTC) and notarized copies are interchangeable terms but they quite differ right? All notarized copies are signed by lawyers but not all CTCs are not certified by lawyers. Hence, its better to have the documents notarized?? Do I understand it right?

6) Do you have an actual Statement of Service which you can email to me? I saw the template from the website already but I wish to see an actual one written by an applicant from the Phils. already. Pls. Pls. (You may send it to [email protected] AND [email protected]). Here in Saudi, is there a chance that I can request for my SOS in that format. I already have one but it is an outlined detail of my employment only (Position, Area, Salary, etc.) with saudi translation on the right side. To those who have a Saudi experience, I will appreciate your inputs. Thanks a lot!

Also, how recent must the SOS be from the date of issue? Is there a requirement?

7) The most frequently asked question but I think that which doesnt't have a clear cut answer yet is also the info which intrigues and confuses me the most. The requirements for Criteria 2, 3, 8? Do I secure these or not? I am still planning to do so for my heart and mind's peace. Haha!

-I have actually requested for Criterion 2 from my school already and waiting to claim it.

-For Criterion 3, what are CHED's reqts to provide you the document? And do I request it from the NCR office in Diliman?

-For Criterion 8, what exactly do I request from the school? The course syllabus only or a leetter! Certification with the syllabus?

8) Can you avail of fit2work services for the ICHC even if you are outside of Australia?

9) Which courier service is the best and the fastest? Ill be sending all my documents to the Melbourne office. Can I send the documents which are required to be sent 'directly' to AHPRA on the same day that I send my Application Form and other reqts? Of course provided that I send criteria 2, 3, and cert of good standing/ registration status in separate envelopes (1 envelope each). Or will there be a bearing if I send the application first then the others a few days? Do I wait for my registration officer to request them before I send them separately?

10) When do I pay for the application? Upon submission of requirements or upon AHPRA's receipt recognition? I have read from the previous pages that they will charge it from your credit card using the card details which you wrote in the AGOS-40 form? True?? So ill just wait and check for my statement of account then?

Woah! This inquiry is quite long but I wish you can take time to read and help me. Thanks! Thanks! Thanks! I am counting on you all.

I will try to answer some of your questions...

1. You need to submit your passport only as a minimum requirement for proof of identity.. Yes you are right, cat a,b,c,d only applicable once you are in Australia..You need to satisfy those once you re-apply your registration post BP using AGBP-40 form. Just leave as it is, dont tick any of the choices because its not applicable.

2. Well you may use your Philippine address as your residential and Saudi Arabia for your principal place of practice. But if I were you, Im happy to use Saudi Arabia as my residential and place of practice since im currently residing and practicing there, there should be no issue about it..

3. Well in my case before, its on the other way around in your situation, i collected mine in PH, notarised and sent it from overseas, so I believe there should be any issues about it. I hope those who ha experience from Saudi will be able to share their experiences too to you.

4. Im not sure if there is a specific validity of a certified/notarised documents. Others said that once your document is certified/notarised, it is valid forever, i dont subscribe to that idea though, but I think its better to notarised your docs once it is ready for sending to be on the safe side.

5. Yes you are right..

8. Yes you can avail Fit2work outside Australia.. All you need to have is printer with scanner for the consent and a payment card..

9. In my case, i sent those need to be sent directly to Ahpra and Iqnm ahead of 4 days via registered mail. Then my main application was sent right after vby express courier DHL in 2 days. Well it depends in your location though. No need to wait for your RO. Just send them right away..

10. Ahpra will auto-debit your card upon receipt of your application.

Correct. They are not going to count your experience in a place that you are not registered in. Even if for some reason you were able to practice without being registered, your experience sad to say won't be credited. As for the certificate of registration, it is only valid for 3 months. They don't start the count upon receiving it, it is primarily based on the day it was issued.

TranceX3... Wow! Super thanks for all that info. Appreciate it so much. Ill just ask again in case Im confused again about some details. God bless!
