Meeting AHPRA requirements as a International Trained Nurse from the Philippines

World Registration

Published

I knew a classmate of mine who had his BP there. I heard from another classmate that he got stressed there because of the exams. But nonetheless, I think he's ok. If you've got significant hospital experience, I think you can handle the BP in any school. One thing about the unis though, their reputations are really good. And they're well known. We rarely find reviews on schools in the internet.

Hi Amaree!

Aside from Deakin Uni, what other unis have good reputations? Which schools did your friends/ classmates go? Thanks!

Hi Amaree21

It's the expense that includes my BP only and living expenses and other expenses I have to bear myself. Anyways, I sent my application to AHPRA on my own. I just have to forward documents from my college and my profession registration body but I read someone's post stating that we don't need to forward those as we do not meet the criteria2,3 and 8. So I'm a bit confused whether to arrange for that or not. Please advise. Do I need to get forwarded my transcripts, syllabus, pharmacology statement and status of registration from concerned authorities? Thanks in advance.

Hi sophia299. I have read the same entries too. That there's no need to ask for documents for criteria 2,3 &8. Though it is given that we don't qualify at all and requesting for these documents to be forwarded to AHPRA might be of no use, still, I would suggest you comply with these. Just to be safe and because I believe "more" is better. Unless someone can vouch that noncompliance to this is ok, then don't. Anyway, these documents don't really cost much (though I don't know with your school and the external accrediting body). It's the delivery of these docs that are a bit expensive. My school asked for 125php for the accreditation evidence plus the medication management and CHED did not charge for theirs.

Hi ikris. Monash and La Trobe are well-known unis too. I think all the unis are anyway. I know one friend who went to ACFE.

Third time I'm posting this. Anyone going to MCIE/Wimmera Health this October?

Hi Amaree21

Thanks for prompt reply! I agree with you on this. I will be sending the requirements as required. Though for me, it's not the delivery of documents but the long commute and the time my registration body takes to send the requirements. They will be sending after 15 days of time frame and I have to travel outstation twice. That's what my trouble is! But it would be worth it if I get my LOE with any delays. :)

Hi Amaree21!

Can you walk us through the process of getting Criterion 3 from CHED? What are their requirements and how long does it take to get it? Where is their office located?

Thanks in advance.

Hi ikris. Every region has its own CHED office and Director. You can refer to this link CHED Regional Offices - The Official Website of Commission on Higher EducationThe Official Website of Commission on Higher Education. I asked a friend to process this for me. I made a letter addressed to the CHED office in our region. I included a print out of the letter format for accrediting body from AHPRA with my particulars as well as a copy of my passport, TOR, and graduation certificate. My friend later on told me that the CHED staff who received my letter already knows about this. They've had the same requests before so it's not new to them. I think it took about 2 weeks before they handed back the letter to us. This is because the Director was away for some convention or something. I just hoped there was an officer-in-charge who could sign the letter in behalf of the Director while she's away. My friend had no choice then but to keep on going back to the CHED office to check whether she's back or not.

Wow, thanks a lot! This is really helpful. If you don't mind, from what region does your school belong?

Hi ikris. It's in Region X. And by the way, it was my friend who sent the letter to AHPRA, not CHED. I don't think they offer direct delivery outside the country. I just made sure the return address was the address of the CHED office so it would appear like it was from them. Or maybe CHED has their own envelope. I don't know since I wasn't able to get my hands on that letter.

Is that CHED letter same with letter from PRC or my previous (college) school admin?

Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Supporting Documentation

ACN increased their tuition fee to 11,000 since 1st of august. they don't have early exit (5 weeks lecture, 6 weeks clinical placement)

and it will take another 4 weeks before they submit the letter to AHPRA that says you passed the bridging program. FYI
