For someone asking about the possibility of having a PR without Ahpra, The answer is yes. I got mine today, PR valid for 5 years. I don't have Ahpra registration, applied in feb 2014.

techibcally it's possible if you worked in countries recognised by anmac for skills assessment.

Ordoghaz, I am very happy for you my friend. Per chance you're somewhere near Melbourne at the moment? I'm visiting some of my friends in the city for dinner, I have time to kill.

That's OK. It's just a matter of waiting then. What is important is that it was a positive news. Let's hope we don't hear of people being advised to go for the much longer conversion program(s).

I find this a little confusing. i emailed my r.o. about the status of my application. I asked her what are the criterias for the assessment dates that they are giving. I applied Nov. 2013, completed the whole application involving the Feb 2014 new assessment model in March 2014.I asked how come that the others who applied after me was assessed first and this was her reply:Thank you for your email. Please be assured we are processing applications in the order of the date they were received, unless there were extenuating circumstances. Your application is currently scheduled for review at the next Board meeting which is 21 November 2014. Decisions and actions are typically communicated within 3 weeks of the meeting date. As meetings are subject to change, please e-mail after 21 November 2014 to confirm your application was reviewed. Kind regards. Are there others who has the same situation as mine?

Hi everyone,

I just received my refusal letter and referral letter to bridging program from the National Processing Team email add 12 days from the Board consideration.

Good luck to all of us. See you in Australia. Haha.

Hi gin,

I can sympathize that AHPRA's system is very confusing. My dialogue with them was also given a very murky response. I had a chance to visit Melbourne's branch and I was told that IQNM applications are indeed processed in order of receipt and was told that each application is different hence, no solid timeframe can be established. I would guess that the applications are in order of date until it gets to the qualifications assessment team where it is hardest to assess (presuming that they take additional steps to authenticate documents). Hence, candidates which presents a more complex application are pushed further down the queue as the assessment team takes more time to focus on it, this is opposed to a candidate with a much more straightforward document despite coming in later but takes less time to assess.

If this is the process they follow then applications are processed by receipt but less complex applications get to the board faster than those which requires more time for review. I am also under the assumption that there are various sub teams within each phase of the assessment making some less complicated applications be processed faster, this enables AHPRA to respond faster than be delayed if a first-in-first-out system is followrd.
