Mar 2014 here. I am under the impression that the decision to refer PH to the BP was done only recently when the national board convened. Under that assumption, I am hopeful that we will be getting our LoEs soon.

Hi, neighbor nurse. Haha.

. What is happening to applications for registration from countries that are not able to meet criteria 2 and 3 on accreditation?Collapse

The new model requires that the education institution where you studied be externally accredited during the period your program of study was undertaken (criterion 2) and that your program of study is accredited by the relevant nursing and/or midwifery regulatory authority or agency (criterion 3).

The National Board is aware that some countries may not meet these evidentiary requirements. We will refer applicants from these countries to a Board-approved bridging program of study if the applicant meets criteria 1, 4, 5 and 7 as outlined below:

Assessment criteria What the criteria requires

1 Your qualification makes you eligible to apply for registration to practise as a registered nurse in the country where you completed the program of study.

4Your overseas qualification is equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree (AQF 7) as a minimum.

5 Your program of study included a required minimum 800 hours of workplace experience providing exposure to a variety of healthcare settings.

7 You successfully completed all components of the program and have graduated with a qualification.

On behalf of the National Board, AHPRA is working to speed up application processing for this group of applicants. We will contact you regarding the progress of your applications.

what do you think will happen then? will our loe's be released? are we qualified for the bridging program?

Hi! You guys said that Deakin University has 1 year nursing programme. I just want to ask what if Im not registered because I was not able to took the board exam but have completed BSN programme from the Philippines. Do you think I qualify for Deakin's 1year nursing programme?

Hi guys!

Let us still be positive on this! Atleast BP is still there

Otherwise theres no other way than to go in uni.

Lets thank AHPRA and BON that they still consider us

Despite of their changed format and requirements.

About the sponsor, im here in Sydney for almost 5months

Now(dependant visa) and currently working as an AIN in one of the biggesst Aged care provider in AU, our DIRECTOR is aware that im applying for ahpra and she was asking me if i can doRN shifts in the future.. Another part time job I have is on a small nursing home, our team leader informed me thar whenever I finished my registration they can sponsor. Its true that there is a huge difference with our nursing practice to theirs, i have been a CI and a staff nurse at the same time for 3years in PH but when I was exposed with the AU setting its really different.

The point is, everything has to be a fruit of hard work and

a lot of prayers, there is nothing impossible with Christ.. I've been waiting for about 1 month now with ahpra and got this email 2days ago..

---Your application is currently under consideration and AHPRA staff will be in contact with you directly if further information is required.

Due to the current high volume of applications from internationally qualified nurses and midwives we are unable to provide a timeframe for a decision on your application.

Please be assured that the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and AHPRA continue to work to expedite the assessment and determination of your application for registration however, a timeframe cannot be given at this stage.---

Keep positive vibes! God bless :)

Hi Mandy, each application is assessed individually. My advise is to look up Deakin International.

I do not mean to add to your anxiety but when I enquired tgey were asking me about my recency of practice. I was told that if I do not meet the criteria, I would be referred to the 3 year course. But then again, that was me. Try your luck by contacting them directly.

Thanks jmolina1985! You are right I should contact them and apply.

We will be referred to Bridging. Still no timeframe for LOE release. I believe they are already processing applications from *drum roll* November 2013.

Yesterday, I asked why the Board and Panel of Experts meet at fortnightly basis only.

AHPRA tweeted:

@xxxxxx arranging more frequent meetings as often as practical #ahpraqanda

At this rate we can probably organize a class for the BP. With any luck, I hope to make it by Deakin Uni's BP November intake. :woot:

I think we all just to have to wait and see.. Who's been waiting the longest here? Me since mid Feb

@official02

I hope you're right my friend, i lodged mine last November 2013. I've talked to some twitter participants yesterday and according to them also was that we will be referred to the bridging program. I'm just wondering if we really happen to qualify the other criteria since we did not in both no. 2 and 3. how did you know that they are processing the nov. 2013 applicants? i will let you know asap if ever i receive my much awaited loe. fingers crossed....

As i happen to read all the twitter chats, most of the U.K. nurses are angry at AHPRA because of the new assessment model requiring them to undergo the bridging program or work with supervision. India and the Philippines are in the same boat when it comes to the new guidelines.

I hope everything will turn out well and good for all of us applying.

First of all I did not made the petition, maybe the writer did it in a jiffy. I dont care about the grammar, syntax, etc. What is impt is we can understand it. If you dont want to support thats fine no one is forcing you.
