I inquired about the medlife hybrid program and was told the locations were Miramar, Florida and West Palm Beach, Florida. I see the school listed on the board of nursing but NOT for those locations. Has anyone went to either of these locations and was able to sit for the NCLEX?

Major red flags here.

1. website ends in .com

A reputable school's website will end in .edu

2. does not have ACEN or CCNE accreditation

While not mandatory, graduation from accredited schools is being required in some areas that are seeing an oversupply of new grads. It can also be a headache when applying to grad school if one is not a graduate of a school that has NURSING accreditation

3. does not state that they have the regional SACS accreditation

This means no courses, including prereqs, are likely to transfer to another school

4. the NCLEX pass rate in 2017 was 26.67%

In any other state, this program would have been placed on probation or no longer approved to operate by the BON

In summary: Run!

Thank you for your response, I definitely have taken all of those things into consideration and did tons of research and Chamberlain University & WGU both told me that they accept students from any school as long as you are able to sit for and passed the NCLEX. The admissions exact words were " we recognize the license not the school" I know that their NCLEX passing rates are low, but my main concern is if I can even sit for them if attending a location not listed on the BON. This school is the only school willing to work with me in the time frame I'm looking to attend, but I also don't want to waste my time or money if I can't sit for the NCLEX. PS. I spoke to the FBON and I was told that the school is on probation but if I attend the school before it loses it's permission to have students sit for the NCLEX students enrolled prior to them being booted off the list are still eligible to test.

According to FL, yes, you'll be able to sit for NCLEX. Does that mean you're likely to pass? Not by what the school's results have shown. This "school" clearly is not preparing students to be successful. However, it appears you've already made up your mind.

Can't like this enough, this is 100% correct. OP, a school's NCLEX pass rate directly shows how well the students are prepared to take that test.

Run away! It's not worth it. Whatever reason you have for wanting to attend this particular school for convenience are not worth the likelihood of being poorly educated and unprepared for the demands of nursing. Have some respect for the profession and yourself and choose a school that consistently meets at least the minimum educational standards.

If the school is not on the B.O.N. website then it is not approved and you will be unable to sit for the NCLEX.

Thanks everyone u have all made some valid points. Maybe I should just enroll to chamberlain directly and spear myself the headache later.
