hi, I do have a book I used a few semesters ago called Exploring Medical Language...it is just sitting in my closet, if you want it let me know and I can mail it to you. I have no need for it. It is a couple of years old, I bought it used online, so it does have some writing in it, but it got me an A in medical terminology class. Let me know if your interested atomicwoman! :)
I have Medical Terminology for Healthcare Professions, its a great book, and also gives you an overview of diseases and anatomy. Mine is pretty beat up and has a lot of writing in it, so you'd probably be best getting a new one! Where I went to school last year, I think they used the one luckygurl mentioned. I took med term this semester and I love being able to watch House and know what they mean when they say things like "hepatic encephalopathy" and "transveryse myelitis" :)
these are not books, but free online courses:
jadu1106,
I don't know if she did request your book but if not I would love to offer to take it off your hands. I start NS this coming fall and even though I learned terminology in my Nurse Aid course I would love to feel more prepared. If you have decided to keep it or have lined up another recipient that is fine. If you are still offering please email me.
Thanks so much!

Anyone have a recommendation for a good medical terminology book/self-study guide? I'm starting NS in May, and I want to get "up to speed" with terminology. I already know a lot of terminology, because I work in the medical field, but I want to go through a book in a systematic way before I start NS.
Thank you! :bowingpur
