Medical Marijuana and future nursing career

Published

Hey everyone...some input would really be appreciated as to the situation I'm in.

I'm a gal who wants to know if my nursing career could become jeopardized if I get a job at a local dispensary. This wouldn't be my main source of income (I currently go to school and work part time for a retail company), but I need more money because I need to pay for school and taking out a loan would be my last option...

Pros for working at a dispensary include: networking (meet people who know how to grow it...i eventually want to grow my own bud- i love gardening), access to more marijuana, money to pay for college...

my MAIN CONCERN is, will this summer job affect future nursing plans?

thanks in advance!

You left out WAY too much information for anyone to really help you with an answer.

What ARE your plans?

Are you in school? If so, for what & what year are you in?

What state do you live in?

Do you have a prescription for MM?

If you are in school or already working as a nurse, what are your school, employers and/or state's policies and laws regarding drug testing and/or prescription holders?

Did you research any of this before asking your question?

Honestly, no way we can answer these questions.

This is something you'll have to research yourself in real life. Speak with nursing programs, BON, criminal authorities, etc. We can't help you.
