Medical City Summer 2021 Nurse Residency

Published

Here is a thread for those who applied to Medical City Summer 2021 Nurse Residency. Applications opened up earlier, but has anyone heard back?  Good luck to us all!☺️

Specializes in Soon to be new grad nurse.

I got an offer for a med-surg ortho trauma position at Med City Arlington and am hesitant to take it because of the 3 year contract and $1000 bi-weekly. I know this is pretty standard at all Med City locations but has anyone else had a hard time accepting the offer due to these reasons??

Me too! I had to put it into perspective. For 2 1/2 months (10 weeks),  I will be making intern pay. However I don't currently work so its more than I making right now. I don't like the 3 years but every hospital is at least asking for 2 years. If I want to leave before the 3 years, I think you can stay PRN and not have to pay back fees. I feel you though, that's frustrating that they do it that way.

I interviewed with medical city children’s and received an offer on March 29th! I ended up accepting a different position though.

When did you apply? I wonder if I applied too late.

Contacted yesterday to schedule an interview for the NICU at Medical City Children’s!

Congratulations! Did you ever hear back? And do you know if there are more positions open?

I just heard from a recruiter that the contract has reverted back to 2 years, so its no longer 3!

Does this apply to all specialties?

Does this just apply for Arlington and is it unit specific?

Is this for every unit?

I am L&D at Medical City Dallas and was contacted about it changing to 2 years! But I know some friends at other locations/specialities that didn’t hear anything.
