Medical City Healthcare Nurse Residency Summer 2023

Nurses Residency

Updated:   Published

Hi there I was looking to connect with people who will be interviewing/attending the new grad bash and keep up to date with each other throughout the process!

*I hadn't seen one for 2023 Summer cohort yet so I figured I would make a post*

Specializes in ICU.

Does anyone know if they still have L&D spots left at any facility? I know they are hiring people at the grad bashes but I can't go since I live 6 hours away ?

I'm not sure. I know at least MC Dallas is a pretty well staffed unit so they may not take many new grads. I would ask your recruiter to see. I have the email to my recruiter from when I was a new grad if anyone wants it. She was very responsive and fast to reply, I know some of them aren't LOL.

Did anyone attend the bash today. I wasn't offered at the site but was told I'd hear back in 24-48 hours ?! Has this happened to anyone else?

Did you hear anything?

I finally got prescreening from the Dallas location ?

I did not unfortunately. I don't know why they would say 24hrs-48hrs to not follow through.

Honestly, this whole process with Medical City has felt a little unorganized.

I just applied to Medical City Heart and Spine nurse residency. Does anyone know if they require contracts. If so, do you know the duration of those?

Nope! They got rid of those this hiring period

Great, thank you so much! I'm not crazy about a facility mandating contracts, so that's one for the "pros" column for me LOL.

I was offered a position at Heart and Spine and was told by the recruiter it is a 2 year contract...

That's disappointing. Congrats on your offer though! What position did you get and how was the interview process for you, if you don't mind me asking?

Thanks! It went very well. The managers were easy to talk to and super personable, hardly felt like an interview at all. Don't be afraid to talk about your how your clinical experiences have shaped your nursing care...and patient safety is always something everyone loves to hear. Only reason I chose elsewhere was because I received an ICU offer while they offered me PCU. Good luck to you!!

Look at you! If you don't mind me asking, what facility did you end going to? Very exciting though!!
