Hi there I was looking to connect with people who will be interviewing/attending the new grad bash and keep up to date with each other throughout the process!
*I hadn't seen one for 2023 Summer cohort yet so I figured I would make a post*

I am interviewing for ICU positions in Fort Worth and Arlington this week!
I wanted to see if anyone interviewed or currently works there and how you enjoy it.Thanks!
Avoid Arlington at all costs. Unless you're planning to work in their women services look the other way. I was actually a nurse extern in Fort Worth. ICU floors are amazing all time fav was MICU and Neuro ICU. Cardiac can be very clicky at first, but they will warm up to you!

Oh my gosh thank you for the insight! What is up with Arlington? Arlington was actually my first choice because of MICU. I have an interview with Neuro ICU in Forth Worth tho!

Where are you working? What floor and hospital? It honestly varies. Usually will start with class/orientation in Frisco. Then you will transition to preceptorship and will usually do about 6 weeks with a preceptor. There are a lot of factors to consider, medsurg usually is less. ICU, peds, women's services is longer.

MCA has never had a good rep, they struggle with management everyone hates their life there. Their women's services is whole diff world tho, haha.

Does anyone here happen to know when the retention period begins? Is after training (10-16 weeks, depending on unit) or is it after the year of residency?
