  1. Has anyone received any information about the first day orientation. I was told my official start date is May 1st but haven't received any information for anyone yet.
  2. I'm not sure. I know at least MC Dallas is a pretty well staffed unit so they may not take many new grads. I would ask your recruiter to see. I have the email to my recruiter from when I was a new grad if anyone wants it. She was very responsive and fast to reply, I know some of them aren't LOL.
  3. It's a very big difference ? the women's and children's hospitals are heaven compared to the rest, believe me.
  4. L&D is $8.00. I work in ICU right now and I'm pretty sure all of critical care is the same but I'm getting $3.75 on nights currently so it's a pretty big difference. Is NICU the same?
  5. I didn't. I am keeping my same base pay that I'm already at but I will say L&D night differential is higher than any other position so will be getting paid more that way.
  6. Awesome! Hope you get to interview with them. I interviewed with the manager from mother-baby and L&D and they are both very nice! Just be yourself, they are very easy to talk to! I also did a shadow shift in the unit and everyone was very nice and helpful!
  7. Hey everyone, I currently work at Med City Dallas in the ICU. I will be changing specialties to L&D starting in May. I am going through the residency again, wondering if anyone else has accepted an offer for L&D too!?! Also saw someone asking about how Med City children's/women's is, just from one shift I did on L&D I can tell you yes it is a completely different world than at least MC Dallas (definitely in a good way). Pretty crazy seeing as it's all the same "hospital" LOL
  8. No problem! You can find me on pretty much all my social media by just searching my name, Makayla Hilburn. We actually go to Frisco on Monday, I had some friends that started in June and they went to Frisco and then did some online stuff after that so I would assume they are doing the same for us! Tuesday I believe we do the hospital tour then the rest of the week we will have online modules to complete.
  9. I will be working on that unit too, I start the same day! Can’t wait to meet you!
  10. I got the clove shoes for graduation. I have worn them a couple of time and they are comfortable the only thing is that they crease pretty easily but they still look good.
  11. Three of my friends have taken their NCLEX already and their licenses were posted 2 days after the test so I don’t think it will be a problem.
  12. My school sent ours out the 15th and we all got ours a week after that. My class was only 36 though so maybe it takes longer if you have a bigger class?
  13. I start the 19th too. My recruiter told me that the July cohort had until August 19th to pass
  14. During the internship portion you will be paid $1000 biweekly unless you’re in OR then it’s different. After the 10-12 week internship period, the hourly rate will be $26.85 for most, it may differ depending on department and experience. My recruiter told me for my unit night differ. is $3.75 for nights and $4.30 for weekends, again this might be different for other departments but I believe this is about average. Also I was able to get $3000 relocation assistance that will be added onto my first check if that’s something you are interested in as well. I hope this helps!
  15. Hey everyone. Does anyone know if relocation assistance is offered to us? I know they have it for the regular RN positions but I wasn't sure about new grads?
