Hello,
I am a Medical Assistant looking to further my education and pursue nursing. I have questions regarding the different schools offered for the LPN program. I live in Louisiana and I am considering Delta college. From the research I have done this school seems the easiest to get into considering the local universities have an extremely long waiting list and they basically choose only the candidates with the highest GPA. My question is are their any nurses that have chosen this college and then pursued their RN online successfully? I am also extremely concerned about the fact that I can be kicked out of the program if I make less that a 80% on my work (I think).
If anyone could possibly give any information or opinions on the information above I would be most grateful. I went into the MA program not really doing my research and I don't want to make the same mistake again.
Thanks!

I don't know much about Delta, but can tell you that they have a pretty good program. I'm an RN and went to LA Tech in Ruston, but there are some Delta students that come through our facility. Grade wise, I know that in my program, anything under an 80 was failing. The grading scale is different in nursing school. If you want to do it, do it! You will be glad you did I think!

I went to school for medical assisting and to me that is a joke! They pump u up n tell u all about how u can do this n do that. I could not find a job n the pay was around $9 an hour. I am currently in my 4th semester of LPN program,I am goin to Louisiana technical college,it was easy to get in n I love it. For my MA it cost $15,000 n my LPN program don't cost but $7,000 n pell is payn for it. N also my school is offering pre reqs online for RN

Omg I went through the same thing. Went to school for medical assisting and thought it was a complete waste of time. I never found a job in the field. My tuition was about the same $15000. The next month after I finished for my MA I started the pn program and the tuition was a lil over $7000. I had to drop the pn program but will be starting again in the fall.
