Specializes in LTC, Hospice, Case Management.

I was all set to begin my hospital job on an orthopedic unit on Monday and then yesterday got recruited by a different LTC cooportation from my previous employment. Basically they said, what will it take to get you and I replied, "I want my cake and eat it too"! After I met with the "suits", I stopped at the store on may way home and bought myself a cake to eat!:lol2::lol2:

Anyways, it is an MDS support position, working between 2-4 buildings. Helping to keep them caught up, training, emphasis on raising CMI & RUG scores, etc. (No more crammed in one little office looking at the same walls from 10 straight years):banghead:

I get... no weekends, no holidays, no on-call, a big fat raise, and autonomity to work whatever hours I want as long as it is somewhere between 24-40/wk. (I only wanted 3 days/wk during the summer so I could go play w/ the kids - but can work more if there is nothing going on at home).

See why I was eating cake! Anyways, I guess I'm rejoining the MDS world. Glad to be back with you all.

Sharon

P.S. Also, no meetings, hopefully with not being in any one building long I can avoid all the "political B.S", no covering call offs. The suits focus in 100% MDS (with accuracy and improved revenue)

Congratulations!! Just in time for the change over to MDS 3.0 and (if you're in Texas) TILES to RUGS. Best of luck.
