Has anyone received acceptance/denial letter to the transitional/bridge RN program at Miami Dade for the Fall 2010 term? I applied for the LPN Fall 2010 program also since I am an RMA and thought that might be a good idea if I didnt get into the RN one and I got an acceptance letter from them already. I heard letters were sent out by the same dept but still nothing on the RN program. I called dade and they always say nothing has been sent yet and will be sent end of June. Oh and any advice if it is worth doing the LPN if I dont get into the RN? I almost feel like it might be a waste of time since I could do the bridge program. Looking forward to hearing from you all! :)
Hello Everyone!
I applied to the Bridge Program earlier this year. I got my acceptance letter at the end of last month (around the 20th, or so). My GPA is 3.54. What they are probably doing, is waiting for people to either accept or reject. Those who reject or miss their acceptance fee deadline lose their seat. After that, they go ahead and start sending acceptance letters to the "second choice" students. It sounds bad, but whatever it takes for you guys to get in!! The acceptance letter comes in a big yellow-brown envelope. My mail man saw me get the letter and start jumping up and down (he must have thought I was nuts!!). Good Luck to all of you!!!
P.S- After you get the letter, there is a lot of stuff to do; vaccinations, drug test, backround check. I would start immediately. The sooner you guys start moving on all that stuff, the sooner you can register for classes. Registration is based on whether you finished turning in all your things or not.
hello futureldrn
thank u for the info. When is the acceptance fee deadline for those who received the acceptance letter?
I still waiting... My GPA is 3.2... If i do not get accepted well i will apply in other schools.
I have all my immunizations , the only one that i need is the PPD. Let's see what happens.
Congratulations!!!!
Hello girl80!
Well, there really is "no deadline" to have those things done. The only "deadline", really, is when you pay your acceptance fee (which is a date that is set depending on when they sent out the letters). I paid mine the day after I got my letter. I just went there and did it. The backround check, drug test and immunization forms (such a hassle!) should get done, (I'm assuming) before school starts or else you can't register for your classes. They kind of do a check-off list before you are allowed to register. I guess, long story-short, get it done a.s.a.p. This thursday and friday is my orientation. But, don't get discouraged. I know someone who was told they didn't get accepted into FIU's program. Then, they called him yesterday and told him was accepted and that he had to attend a make-up orientation. This might be the case for you. Thanks for the congrats!! I wish you ALL the luck! I hope you get in!!!!!!! If not, try looking into career learning center (that was going to be my back-up plan). If you have any more questions, feel free to ask me :)
Hi tzamora7
I called today MDC. They told to wait 2 or 3 weeks so to wait until August. That's crazy ......
i am tired of waiting and waiting. I can't take it anymore.... This is the second time that i applied to that school and always is the same sh....!!!!!! I think i am going to Mercy that school is cheap too. Well good luck and let me know any news!!!!!
Hi
do not worry.....!!!!MOVE ON!!!!! go head and apply in Mercy hospital. I haven't received any letter yet. I do not have any hope at this time to get accepted either. I am going to the orientation this July at Mercy too.
do not get discouraged!!! follow your dreams, do what it takes to do to become an RN.!! do no give up!!!.
goo luck:nurse:
I called because I hadn't received any letter, and they told me I was one of about thirty students on a waiting list in case other people rejected the program. The advisor told me "I wasn't next on the list"...so I pretty much accepted that I wasn't getting in. But I got a phone call a few days ago! And I got in! :)
Now I have to rush to get my drug test, titers, background check...It's so stressful. I wanna enjoy the last few weeks before the chaos starts!
Congratulations! I don't know if I should be hopeful or not since I have not recieved anything yet. I'm not going to get my hopes up. I was looking at other options like Kaiser, I met a student from there that highly recommended the program. She did mention that it was expensive but that it was worth it. Tisgemuh, who did you talk to when you call MDC and what number did you call if you dont mind me asking. I'm really just tire of waiting. Congratulations again.
I called the medical campus and asked to speak to an advisor. I told them I hadn't received any letter and I wanted to check my application status. They told me I needed to go to the medical campus to check my status. We hung up, and then I thought to myself, "HELL NO!" And I called back, and I said, "Look. I did everything right. I payed my application fee, and I wanna know what's up with my application." So she checked it out for me. And I got the call about a week and a half later. So be persistent!
