Has anyone received acceptance/denial letter to the transitional/bridge RN program at Miami Dade for the Fall 2010 term? I applied for the LPN Fall 2010 program also since I am an RMA and thought that might be a good idea if I didnt get into the RN one and I got an acceptance letter from them already. I heard letters were sent out by the same dept but still nothing on the RN program. I called dade and they always say nothing has been sent yet and will be sent end of June. Oh and any advice if it is worth doing the LPN if I dont get into the RN? I almost feel like it might be a waste of time since I could do the bridge program. Looking forward to hearing from you all! :)
hithank you for the info. did you apply for generic or bridge?
once again congratulations!!!
Thank you! I'm still really shocked I got in...I feel like they're going to call back and be all like "JUST KIDDING!" or that my drug test is going to come back positive or something equally tragic.
I applied to the Generic program in Homestead. It's pretty convenient cause that's closer to my house than the Medical Campus...Although my classes are going to be at seven AM...and that's never convenient. =/ Oh well...can't have everything.
Hello everyone. I call mdc after being transferred around i was given a number to call. I left a message and I got a call back today, that i'm on a waiting list, "is not a no or a yes", they say I have to wait 2 to 3 weeks. That is crazy, classes would have started by then. I'm schedule to take the teas for kaiser on the 19th of this month.
hi qpn76
I called last week and they told me the same thing... my status is not a yes or no... I am not waiting anymore.. I went to Keiser University ... i took the teas which i passed... i have an interview with the director of nursing
let's see. The only bad thing is that they are accepting for May 2011. January 2011 is full.
good luck:nurse:
Hi Girl80
Congratulations on passing your test. I know the feeling, its really crazy that MDC expects you to wait till the last minute, then have you go crazy getting together whatever other requirement you have, on top of that also getting the money. As per kaiser when I went there I was told that they still have room for the class starting october of this year.
How was the test? any advice on what to focus on. what did you use to study?
Thanks
Hi qpn76
I did the teas at Keiser University. You are talking about Keiser career college... They have a class that start in October but i do not want to do the bridge there. I did my LPN in KCC and I know how they are.. not coming back. Once you do the teas you can take it to any other school..
to prepare for the teas i bought the book, it helps a little bit.. for math study the substraction and adding numbers, percentage , temperature conversion.
i didn't did good on the science part, but i got good scores in reading and math so it compesate the low grade in science.
I heard about a school called Florida national college, they have a brigde program as well. I called and the school is accredited.that is another choice to consider.
Hi Girl80,
You are right, can you tell me how was your experience at kcc and why you wont go back?
Thanks for telling me about florida national college, I will check them out. as far as kcc I just want to keep
my options open given that at this point there aren't that many.
Good luck and keep me posted on where you end up going.:)
Well I "finally" got my rejection letter from Dade last night (not that I had any hope) but I was accepted to Broward College's program to begin in Jan 11, so I'm happy about that.
Congrats to those who made it and good luck to those who are still trying and DON'T give up. I had been trying to get into MDC program for 6 years!!! (since they were the only one's that had a part-time program that worked with my full-time work schedule) but I have decided to make the financial sacrifice and quit my job and do the full time program at BC. It has been my dream to be a nurse and even though I have a collection of rejection letters (lol) I never let it stop me...so those of you that are still trying dont get discouraged and KEEP trying, it will happen!
Hi tzamora7,
Congratulations on BC, and for being an example on never giving up in your dreams. I too finally got the rejection letter from MDC. The way I see i, is that things happen for a reason and maybe it was not in our cards to go to MDC. I also applied to BC, their LPN to Bridge program. Congratulations to those who got in and for those of us who did not, Lets keep our dreams ALIVE!!!
