MDC Nursing Spring 2019

To anyone out there....

I had planned to apply for Fall 2018 but I will be finishing my pre reqs on May 1,2018. The exact deadline to apply for Fall. Is anyone in a similar situation? Do you think I should apply anyways?

Do you think that means anything in terms of receiving emails? I believe I have read that previous years had orientation on November 1st. I wonder if a later date means later decisions or if they are having difficulty meeting number of applicants.

Whatever it means, I hope it's good for us lol

I think last semester they received their acceptance letters June 14 and orientation was July 20something if I'm not mistaken.

Hey guys!

I applied for the spring 2019 generic program back in June. My hesi score was a 67 (not the best I barely made it) and my science gpa is a 3.7 my composite score should be a 77. Does anyone have or know of someone with a similar score of mine? I'm extremely nervous!

If you look at previous years, you will see a pattern of scores and approval of at least the people that have posted. I personally looked at the previous couple of cycles and have found that the majority of people that posted has composite scores of over 80 and a score over 85 seems like it is very likely an approval. I have seen some low scores around 80 like 81 or 79 but I have also seen that those accepted with those scores have mentioned applying previously or have waited for the second or third round of approvals. You could see for yourself by searching 2017 or 2018 threads.

@Crystal1996 you are not alone. My HESI or GpA is not that high. I have prayed for everything to go well and I'm just being positive.

It really depends on the students who applied. I've seen is previous threads composite scores as low as low 70s make it. Stay Positive!

I was checking the spring 2018 thread and they had their orientation Nov 13 - 27, they sent out the first wave of acceptances Oct 16 so they gave about a month to get all the paperwork ready. So assuming the process is still the same I do believe we will receive notice next week or early October. Almost there. Oct 1 is Monday and can't come soon enough.

No inside scoop really, I just call and I am persistent until I get answers lol They did tell me though that those dates are subject to change but not likely.
