MDC Nursing Spring 2017

Published

Hi,

I just took the Hesi entrance exam last week and I am about to apply to Miami Dade College for the Spring 2017 generic full time program. The deadline is September 1 so I am sure there are more than a few people that have applied or are getting ready to apply. I have not seen a forum as yet for spring 2017. I would like to hear from people who are applying for spring 2017.

So, I'm not sure if this is the case for everyone, but my deadline to reserve the seat, and others I've read, is Nov 1st. I'm pretty confident that that second batch will go out the day after. Once those seats that were rejected or never claimed in time will be up for grabs. Hold out for next week, guys!

Yeah I check my mdc email (including spam) everyday and they still haven't sent anything. I don't know when the next batch was going to be released. Maybe I'll call tomorrow and ask because this is getting a bit frustrating now lol

Hey pizzaism nope I haven't gotten anything yet either..I called earlier today and the girl said no they haven't sent out the second batch yet and yeah more than likely it will go out like lokedoutlulu said after Nov.1st

Hi Kathleen

I'm also taking the CPR class on 11/5 in Homestead Campus. Is this where you will be doing the Nursing Program?

I was about to call to ask lol thank you. Ugh! I really hope we get it next week so we can finally have some peace of mind.

Hey guys I need clarification on something..I know that your acceptance into the program is 60% your hesi score and 40% your science gpa..so wouldn't that mean that someone with a hesi score of 92% and science GPA of 3.5 be considered before someone with a hesi score of 80 something and a GPA of say 3.6..?

For those that have not received the email:

I was told that emails get sent in waves of three. The first wave they wait for people to accept or decline their seats, then a second wave is sent... wait for acceptance of seat or not and then the third wave. It should run up until mid November unless they get classes full sooner. Good luck!

My GPA was 3.21 and HESI 91%

I'm going to medical campus, but still undecided on which program:accelerated or generic.

Anyone has any recommendations?

One of the differences I know between both generic and accelerated is that there is one extra semester in the generic program. I applied to both and accepted the AO. Good luck :)

Technically yeah but remember they told you that the order of whom they send the emails to is random.

I'm sure you got accepted because you have a good GPA and HESI score. For me I know my 88.86% HESI score is good but my 3.14 science GPA has me a little worried. Hoping the good score on HESI will outweigh the GPA.

If I can recall correctly, I got my acceptance email early-mid November so to say I was rushed is an understatement. I also didn't think I would be accepted because my less than stellar GPA but I think my Hesi scored pulled me through. Have hope Pizza, I'm rooting for ya!

Hi, did anybody on here do the cpr-bls course at the Kendall campus yesterday? Do they provide a book? Did the course actually take 6 hours? Did you receive your CPR card the same day?

CPR-BLS course, you don't need a book they provide material for you (not a book but like a handout kind of), if it's your first time I think its 4 hours (watching the video and practicing on the mannequins) and you do receive your CPR card that same day.
