MDC Nursing Spring 2017

Published

Hi,

I just took the Hesi entrance exam last week and I am about to apply to Miami Dade College for the Spring 2017 generic full time program. The deadline is September 1 so I am sure there are more than a few people that have applied or are getting ready to apply. I have not seen a forum as yet for spring 2017. I would like to hear from people who are applying for spring 2017.

Yes i started last friday. I have to go a total of 4 times.

Hi guys! Just wanted to say congrats on taking the first step towards your nursing career. I am currently an MDC AO (accelerated option) student. I started in January of this year. I received my acceptance letter on October 16. So just around the corner for you guys.

I don't know how to write this without sounding janky but if anyone is interested in buying my scrubs or books for the cheap (Because we all know how expensive the book store is). Please keep me and my classmates in mind.

And of course if you have any questions, feel free to message me.

Best of luck!

Hey @nurselyfe2016 !

Im totally interested in purchasing used books/scrubs from y'all. I'll be in the full time bridge program, do you know if the scrubs and books are the same for all the program options? If so, is there anyone in your class selling scrubs in XL?

Thank you!

Hey Andry, congrats!!!

I have M scrub tops and L bottoms.

I will ask my classmates for XL and let you know. :)

Scrubs and Books are the same for every program.

Just an FYI, don't freak out if you don't complete your complio paperwork before orientation. The office is usually behind on this paperwork and you might not be compliant until right before the program starts.

Hey there! Congratulations on your acceptance! I'm doing the online bridge option as well, and will be at orientation Nov 29th. I look forward to meeting you. I'd love to stay in contact since I'm sure doing the online option makes it difficult to know your classmates.

Everyone seems to have a different orientation date, depending on their program. I was accepted into the Online Bridge, and mine will be on November 29th. I already went to the medical campus, and reserved my spot with the acceptance fee. I also already set up my appointment for the background check and fingerprinting. I will have to shop around a bit for the health record because I have insurance, and some people are saying it helps to have insurance and others have said insurance usually doesn't cover those services. I suggest everyone who has a choice between programs goes and turns in their acceptance forms, as I'm pretty sure once the rejected programs open up, those second batches will be sent out right away. Some people here are about to go insane waiting for their emails!

Ill keep you in mind if I meet anyone that needs that size. Thank you for asking around for me.

How much are are you selling your books for? Which books do we need?

Hi, Andry!

Nice to meet you as well, and congratulations. I agree online bridge is going to be intense, and it will be great to meet fellow online bridge takers at orientation. I work full time during the day, so online was my only option if I wanted to take this course, but most of my credits so far have been online so I hope that make me slightly more prepared for this journey. Study buddies will be a great advantage for self teaching. We'll need all the help we can get. Can't wait to see you there! :)

Kathy004,

That's awesome. Can't wait to meet you. I'm getting my fingerprints done today and I'm heading over to Medical campus on Monday to pay the $100 and hopefully get the health records taken care of too.

Will you be doing the CPR class on 10/29?

Yes! I registered for the 10/29 class, I will

definitely see you there. What's your email since it's not letting me send a message through here

What experiences have you all had in using the clinic at the Medical campus for your physical/titers/etc.? I called today to make an appointment and the person who answered the phone said they wouldn't take appointments if this is your first visit to the clinic. Also, she said I should plan on taking a whole day off because it will take hours. It will be tough to take a whole day of work for this, especially if I have to go back three more times. Anyone who's been know if it really takes all day if you get there first thing in the morning? Also, I was really surprised they wouldn't let me make an appointment; it seems like it would be easier for them.

The clinic staff are great and it is true, you definitely want to go early and expect to be there all day, the school year is back in full swing and lines will be forming. Definitely go as early as you can, if you can go in this week, do it! Do not put this off last second because you will have to come back to the clinic a few times.
