MDC Nursing spring 2014

Published

So I'm starting the post for Spring 2014. I'm currently waiting for my acceptance letter for fall term but just in case applying for spring is my back up plan.

So my GPA is 3.0 and my teas is 72 giving me a score around 73.

Since I didn't get a first round email for fall I'm thinking of retaking my teas test so if anyone is willing to study with me please let me know. Good luck to everyone applying for spring!!

Hello, Im new in this forum...I got accepted into MDC generic fulltime... when you mention 'good clinicals'...are you refering to getting good hospitals...please any help I appreciated

I have been trying to schedule the class but no luck so far please let me know when I would want to do the private class[/quote']

I have to get enough people to schedule it.

I'm sorry guys, what I meant by "good clinicals" is more about personal preference. When you check the course catalog, and when they give you the schedule to register, pretty much all you will see is the time and location of the clinical. Depending on where you live you may want to choose a site that is closer to home. Or maybe you'd pick based on what you've heard about the facility or floor you'll be on. Also, there are usually morning (7a-3p) and evening (3p-11p) clinicals so you'd want to choose based on your time preference. Some people who registered late were scrambling to find someone to switch because they realized that the schedule wouldn't work for them.

@Janesia: I believe tuition was due by the last add/drop date. But for AO, the due date was also dependent on the class start date since your semesters are essentially two in one and not all of your classes will start in January.

How do you know which sequence to pick.

Hi Jessy,

I have a question, which one did you go because there are two Miami Rescue Mission clinics on that pdf page ( 2015 NW 1st Ave or 955 NW 3rd street )? One more question: do they charge the same as MDC Wellness Clinic? Thank you in advance :)

I don't really know about sequences because in AO there's pretty much one schedule with the only variances being clinicals and sometimes labs. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful with your question

Thanks anyways!

Thanks AllyWill for the info :-) looks like I might invest in a rolling bag so that I can stay on campus and study.

I went to the one on 955 and 3rd street. Is called miami rescue mission at victoria. Victoria is like a rehabilitation center. And yes is the same price for the package.. $225 for all the program asks for. Physical, TB, Drug test and titers.

Ok so I called the wellness center and they said they still don't have TB tests but that the nursing school is aware and we will be fine if we don't have them done by orientation that it just needs to be done before clinicals. Also if we already paid at the Wellness center the Miami rescue won't honor that payment and we would have to pay an additional $15 for each TB test. Those $30 can better serve me by paying for the flu shot. Either way I'm calling the nursing department today to confirm.

Thanks for the info @jessy89. I also plan on doing my physicals there. Hopefully there is not a long wait.

I made a group on Facebook. Mdc homestead nursing 2015 I think it is open so you can join. If not send me a pm.
