MDC Miami Dade College Nursing Fall 2021

It's never too early to start the discussion....

Anyone else preparing to apply to the Nursing program at MDC by May 1, for a Fall 2021 start date? Which tracks? TEAS test plans?

Actually I don't know my science GPA definitely I have to re take it. ? to me the science portion was hard

I think you're getting confused, maybe? TEAS score is one component. Overall grade point average is another. The grades you received in 2085&lab, 2086&lab, chem1033&lab, and Microbiology lecture are another grade point average that all gets considered when applying for the program.

If you need to retake any of those classes, you won't be able to apply for fall semester nursing.

I am taking this two right now

Hi everyone! I'm hoping to apply for the genetic full time and part time program by May 1st. I haven't taken the TEAS yet but I'm planning to within the next couple of weeks. Can everyone share their STATS? What's considered a good overall and Science GPA to get accepted? TEAS scores that usually make it in? My overall GPA is 3.80 and my Science is 4.0. Hope to hear from everyone and good luck to all of us!!!

I Have to re take mine awsome good  GPA try to score higher that 80 % on your TEAS

No one knows how many people are going to apply or what numbers will be competitive, unfortunately. It's not data that MDC ever publishes. If you look at previous semester discussions, the scores are all over the place. But since Covid has been around for over a year now, there may be many more applicants finishing up their prereqs this semester after having their jobs closed last year.

???? hope to pass

I just took my TEAS. I didn’t study for it all and kind of just decided to wing it knowing I could retake - to know what to study and expect LOL

I scored an A in all categories, but science. Obviously,  I need to retake it. What is a decent science score? The only info I see about scores is overall over a 60%, which I’m well over - but there must be some kind of science minimum.

I might be wrong but from what I understand they don't look at the grade break down by sections like that; it's just the overall TEAS score that counts. They look at 3 things: Cumulative GPA, Science GPA, and overall TEAS score, so I don't think it matters if you got let's say a 60%, 90s, 80s,  or whatever grade in different sections, as long as the overall grade is 80% and above is a good score.

Correct- they don't look at individual section scores. 60% or above overall is all you need.

Other schools, such as FIU, have a minimum science requirement along with a higher overall score requirement.

Perfect. Thank you. I’m trying to find acceptance rates and average grades/scores for the nursing program and can’t. I can for FIU, but not MDC.

What are we saying is an acceptable score? I got an 85%. Hoping to improve.

Also does anyone know how long it takes for the scores to show up on the application? I know I just had mine, but it’s not there yet. I’ll be cutting it a little close for a retake since I have to wait 30 days. But I think it’s doable.

Wait a minute we all most have Adobe 80% ???? They just show add that info instead of telling you with a 60% you are fine #falseadvertising
