I am also applying for FIU-- I was accepted last year to MDC but for financial and personal reasons could not attend. :'( Who else will be applying to Generic FT? Please state what program you will be applying to!
I will be taking the TEAS sometime in March, in which I will also be taking the HESI A2 for FIU. So I might as well be studying for both, lol. Anybody taken the TEAS at MDC? Share your experiences here! :) I will be using a general book for nursing school entrance exams... it's by Barron... and I will be studying my math from a nursing calculation book, and my sciences from my anatomy, biology, and other notes. Is it true there is geology on the exam? How irrelevant... lol
is anyone here still waiting for their background check info? i took it july 22 and i still haven't gotten anything. how long did it take for those of you who got it to receive an email. i took it at the medical campus
I took the background check on the 21st day of the Homestead orientation and still no email either. I think my the middle of next week we should get an email.

I went on tuesday this week to medical and they were having orientation, so I didn't get to speak with any of the "top dogs." However, one of the ladies taking in the health forms told me that she is responsible for getting everything together for everyone and that her deadline to finish with everyone is next friday. She said she will then send out emails to any students who are missing anything! I was surprised that they are still so far behind! I thought at least they would be sending out schedules by next friday, not more "you are missing ..." type emails! I'm just sharing what happened. Also, just so everyone knows, Romalia won't be in until Tuesday, so lots of things are on hold until she gets back.
I'm an herbal tea drinker, too! I haven't quite figured out how to get the taste I want when it is cold herbal tea. And in the summer, hot herbal tea isn't always my favorite thing. Give me "sleepy time" herbal tea anyday! Getting away from caffeinated cola's and drinking more water is a healthy choice. I'm much bettter than I used to be! Still not perfect yet!
How many credit hours does your schedule have and how may non credit hours. The reason I ask is because my schedule fees are as follow $1278.30 for credit hours and $493.05 for non credit hours. For a grand total of $1771.35. Please let me know if your is different thanks so much in advance.
Anyone else missing NUR1025C on their schedule? I called the nursing department last week and they said they are still working on the registrations. But I found that odd because if you look up that class in the system, there are only a few seats left (so almost everyone has already been placed). Then yesterday I got an email that the system has automatically dropped me from other classes because NUR1025C is a co-requisite. I'm pretty sure I will be dropped from the program now and wondering has the deadline already passed for alternate programs other than RN?

The same thing happened to me... I've been missing 1025C and 1025L for a week now. Yesterday the system dropped me fromm 1142. I dont think you'll be dropped from the program- it's probably just a glitch. I called Registration a few times and I was told that they are having a lot of issues with the Nursing course registrations. The majority of the full-time classes were put on a Nursing Department hold and can only be registered in with a closed class card. You wont see the courses in the open course search but if you do a search on the reference number in the registration menu it will tell you if the class is full or not.I checked on the classes that I chose with Romalia and they are still available, so I'm going in person to handle this first thing in the morning.

This is so confusing - my schedule says 10 credit hours, 0 non credit. Is it supposed to be only 5 classes?
Thank you so much for responding. :) I was having a very bad feeling because this type of thing has happened to me before. In a few days the remaining slots will be filled and they will say "Sorry, it is out of our hands. You need to apply for next year." I was tempted to register myself, but then thought they might use that as a new reason to eliminate me from the program.

But that is how I found them and made me so concerned. A couple of weeks ago, I saw 20-30 open seats in these sections. Now they are almost totally filled - so the vast majority of people seem to be already scheduled. This happened to me once before when all my classes were automatically dropped the weekend before school started. They said I hadn't taken basica algebra, even though I had completed calculus and it had already been evaluated at Wolfson. By the time I caught their mistake, all the sections were filled and I couldn't attend school that semester.
I checked on the classes that I chose with Romalia and they are still available, so I'm going in person to handle this first thing in the morning.
Please post back if you find out anything. I tried to call and email both Ramalia and Dawn on Friday but I think someone told me they won't be back in until Tuesday (not 100% sure on that). I can't get off work tomorrow so I'll have to wait until later.
