I am also applying for FIU-- I was accepted last year to MDC but for financial and personal reasons could not attend. :'( Who else will be applying to Generic FT? Please state what program you will be applying to!
I will be taking the TEAS sometime in March, in which I will also be taking the HESI A2 for FIU. So I might as well be studying for both, lol. Anybody taken the TEAS at MDC? Share your experiences here! :) I will be using a general book for nursing school entrance exams... it's by Barron... and I will be studying my math from a nursing calculation book, and my sciences from my anatomy, biology, and other notes. Is it true there is geology on the exam? How irrelevant... lol
Wow... I had the same issue with my Calculus class. They had to go into the computer and override something. I think it may be same issue why I was dropped this time too. I will definately let you know what happens today. I've come to realize that I can't get anything accomplished by phone or email at MDC. I only get results when they see my face... which really sucks cause I'm driving from Broward

So I believe what happened is that they had registered me for every class except NUR1025C. I saw that last week and called them about it. They said it was all being taken care of. But since 1025C is a mandatory corequisite to 1142, 1142 was automatically dropped.

Just got back from Med campus... apparently there was a big system issue that occured over the weekend that dropped many students on all campuses- not just Nursing. I went to advisement first, who sent me to registration where they reregistered me in the classes that the system dropped. But I had to go to the Nursing dept to get 1025L added to my schedule. There were herds of students there with the same issue. A lot of them had all their classes dropped, some who had who already paid for them. The people in the Nursing dept were very helpful to the people with schedule issues- they were seeing them one at a time to fix it.
How many credit hours does your schedule have and how may non credit hours. The reason I ask is because my schedule fees are as follow $1278.30 for credit hours and $493.05 for non credit hours. For a grand total of $1771.35. Please let me know if your is different thanks so much in advance.
This is so confusing - my schedule says 10 credit hours, 0 non credit. Is it supposed to be only 5 classes?
Hi guys! Pixie, mine is the same as yours. And yes, it's only 10 credit hours first semester. Lazgon, I have no idea what non-credit classes they registered for you but I would definitely go speak with someone in advisement about it.
If you log into your degree audit it will explain exactly what is needed for each semester.
is anyone here still waiting for their background check info? i took it july 22 and i still haven't gotten anything. how long did it take for those of you who got it to receive an email. i took it at the medical campus
It took me 4 weeks to receive my background results. I did it at Med.Ctr Campus, too. And the strangest part is that I asked the background company.. how long will this take? They said 3 days. Longest 3 days I've ever experienced! LOL. Not that I expected any issues with my background check. Just when somebody tells you 3 days... you don't think 4 weeks!
Has anyone received or heard of anyone receiving a rejection letter?! I have not received anything from mdc. I call, and no one ever answers the phone. I just want to be able to close this chapter and prepare for my next step. so i need to know!
Did you go to mdc.edu and log in and "print your schedule"?
Most everyone I've heard about has a schedule or at least a partial schedule.
nope nothing. im sending in my background check info tomorrow.i was thinking it was cause im missing that. but i was told i should get it without all my paper work in. but idk since its coming from dade its probably wrong lol.
Hello guys, just here to give you some update. Well just received today my rejection letter for both genetic and part- time. Well at this point I was already waiting for a rejection because classes are almost beginning, and I was sad when I first saw the "regretful" word in there, but well, now I will hit the books, try to correct the mistakes and try again next term. So good luck and congratulations for those who will begin this fall, and for those like me who didn't make this time, let's learn from this experience and hit the books so we can be successful next time. :0
