MDC Fall 2011 =)

Published

Hi guys! Who else is applying for MDC Fall 2011?

I am also applying for FIU-- I was accepted last year to MDC but for financial and personal reasons could not attend. :'( Who else will be applying to Generic FT? Please state what program you will be applying to!

I will be taking the TEAS sometime in March, in which I will also be taking the HESI A2 for FIU. So I might as well be studying for both, lol. Anybody taken the TEAS at MDC? Share your experiences here! :) I will be using a general book for nursing school entrance exams... it's by Barron... and I will be studying my math from a nursing calculation book, and my sciences from my anatomy, biology, and other notes. Is it true there is geology on the exam? How irrelevant... lol

Well good luck to us all! :heartbeat

i was trying to go on a day other than sat

Here another list of places that offer the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers: http://goo.gl/ucqQ6

The list starts with which class is closest to the Medical Center Campus and then goes farther out.

You can also go through the American Red Cross for the CPR BLS so long as you get the CPR AED for the professional rescuer. I've gone through the class a few times in my day, so I will just be challenging the test at the ARC in Broward. About a year and a half ago, they let me challenge the test, which was great- I didn't have to sit through the class, and it was significantly less expensive than any of the classes.

I just tried to look now though, and couldn't find it. I will try to call tomorrow to see if this is still an option. :)

Congratulations Jaylen! :) Do you mind sharing your gpa and teas score please?

For CPR (BLS) class ... I took http://www.cpr.net John Connelly, instructor. He has a gazillion years experience as a first responder (fire dept?!) It was a 2 hours class, paid $26. You practiced on dummies. No book to buy, No test to take.

You may want to consider this option.

My friend who is doing RN school pre-req's recommended him to me.

Her mother is an RN.

backtobasicrn,

please tell me more info about the health insurance for $82/month.

where, who, etc. any info about quality / low price health insurance is

a god-send.

thanks

If I have insurance. How do I do the drug test ? Where would I go and where do they send the results? Do they hand them to me on a sealed envelope and I just bring them to orientation? I don't get it.

Oh and by the way after reading earlier posts people were asking who is not takin the part time , I got accepted to part tome generic and I'm not gonna take it. I'm doing full time generic. :)

hey congrats to everyone that got into the nursing program this year:balloons:...i was wondering if anyone got into the lpn program...what was you teas test..im thinking about going to mdc for that particular program????

Anyone check the registration system? Before I log in it shows priority registration begins the 22nd. But after I log in, it gives me a message that I can't register until the 24th. Do any of you guys show that you qualify for the 22nd?

Also, when you click on the course info for NUR1025, it shows HSC0003 as a prerequisite. I hope I'm not automatically dropped because I don't have that.

Does anyone know if it matters what grades we get in the program? Like if we get 'B's and 'C's, do employers only care if we pass the NCLEX? Thanks

When can we start registering for classes?

Hi, I get the same thing regarding June 24th. It may be only for nursing students. Idk.

My aunt was in the nursing program years ago and she failed a class because she got a 74. I believe that is a D. I think A's are 92.

The insurance is 82 but it is not active till the following month. You have to go through i forget i don't know like the audit of your health. Your best bet is to go to miami dade for the 220 plus 60 or go to some where like health department where they do based on your income or a clinic that does it on your income.
