I am also applying for FIU-- I was accepted last year to MDC but for financial and personal reasons could not attend. :'( Who else will be applying to Generic FT? Please state what program you will be applying to!
I will be taking the TEAS sometime in March, in which I will also be taking the HESI A2 for FIU. So I might as well be studying for both, lol. Anybody taken the TEAS at MDC? Share your experiences here! :) I will be using a general book for nursing school entrance exams... it's by Barron... and I will be studying my math from a nursing calculation book, and my sciences from my anatomy, biology, and other notes. Is it true there is geology on the exam? How irrelevant... lol

I will try to do the teas in mid April, since the application deadline is may 1st. Because of my 3.0 gpa, I think I will have to score 85 or more in order to have a good change of acceptance.
some of you are a bit ahead of me but i also will be applying to mdc nursing accelerated/generic program. but i will be applying to spring 2012 program. i will be applying by september.
Oh ok. Me and you both have a combining scores of about on 85. Do you feel comfortable with that score?
i think its a decent score... but mdc is not my first priority. I actually applied to another school and should be finding out the beginning of next week.
So how many people on here have Miami Dade as their first choice school? It is the only school I am applying to(I have no desire to go into debt for a undergraduate degree) so I am curious...
Mdc is my first priority, and my GPA is low compared to those of you here which is 3.0 but I am studying my butt off so I can get a good grade on the TEAS which I will probably do mid April. Besides mdc which other school is good to apply? And how do you calculate your combine score( TEAS + GPA). Thanks!!!

to calculate your score multiply your gpa by 10. then multiply your TEAS by .6. add them together and that total is out of 100. the top however many students with highest numebrs are gonna be who get in. ex if you have a 3.0 and 90% on TEAS to have 30+54(the Teas 90x.6) which is a competitive score of 84. The point 6 comes from the test being worth 60% and the GPA being worth 40%. Best luck to all applying
