Hello fellow students! I wanted to create a topic for those who are planning on starting the MDC Nursing program in the Fall of 2019. It's never too early to be well prepared. LOL. I have a B.A. and was able to get some of my credits transferred to the A.S. I read through the thread for the Fall of 2018 class and the Spring of 2019 class. Both threads have some very useful information regarding how to study for the HESI, scores needed to get into the program, etc. and many people from those groups keep in touch in Facebook and via Whatsapp. I'm looking for a support/study group for those that are in the same timeline as I am. Just starting BSC2086 A&P 2/lab and MGF1106 next week at Kendall/Homestead campuses. Also, looking for P/T work at Baptist Hospital or MDC. I am anticipating taking Microbiology and the Intro to Healthcare in the Spring '19, along with the HESI. Hope to meet some great people on here!
Thank you everyone for your information! I'm planning to apply AO and I have one more question has anybody taken the TOEFL test before? I have to take it before apply because my BS isn't from the US. I think I will retake HESI again too so I might not be available to apply on 1st May. I have to apply on 1st September. I'm so frustrated now :((( Good luck everyone and I hope to see you guys in nursing school one day.
Hi there! I’m new here but keeping up with this post. I myself plan to apply to the MDC program for the fall as well.
I’m taking the HESI on the 22nd (hope im not too late:( ). I’ve been studying with the elsevier hesi book and the pocket prep. I’m feeling pretty good. I’ve also been brushing up on my anatomy. (Almost feeling like im understudying or missing something)
my science GPA is currently a 3.5 and hoping to get atleast an 80 on my hesi to have a competitive score of 83.
Was as wondering if anyone has any tips with the chem and bio?
Wishing everyone the best of luck!
Future MDC Nurses?

I applied for both the part time and full time program last week. My science gpa is 2.95 (because I got a C in Chem Lab) and my Hesi score is 78.86. Did anyone else apply yet? What are your scores?
Goodluck bblcg96! I took the Hesi last month and got a 89.71 with a gpa of 3.4. Acceptance depends on the pool of applicants and where your competitive score ranks you
I finally applied to both the Accelerated and the Generic Full time options today!!! I was told that they are extending the deadline until May 15 now which is good for those who need extra time. The advisor said we'll get responses back 4-6 weeks after the deadline. Good luck to everyone!

Do you know why they extended the deadline?

did you apply for the medical campus or Homestead? I wonder why they would extend the deadline, maybe they don’t have enough applicants?? Thoughts ?
That’s what I was thinking too. I remember when my sister did hers a couple years ago, they extended the dead line because their wasn’t enough applications. She told me that her classes were never full.
