MD Anderson Residency

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi everyone,

I received an interview for the MD Anderson Clinical Nurse Residency Program starting hopefully mid-March. I'm incredibly nervous because this is my first call back.

Anybody have any tips on... How the interviews are conducted? How many are interviewed? What units at the hospital are available to work in? And did anybody else get an interview?

Thanks!

Specializes in got a cna license but no job.

On the website it says BSN preferred. Is anyone applying with just an ADN?

ug, still waiting... I called the recruiter twice last week and left messages but no call back. I guess I'll call again. My application still says "under consideration" so I guess that's a good thing.

Out of state applicants: Do you know how the interview process works for us? Can they do a skype kind of thing or do we need to come in person?

The girl I spoke with (Ann) said interviews last about a week so I thought they would have called me back already. Or maybe I bombed the phone screening haha

not me sorry, I'm a BSN

I have a BSN..not sure about any of the other applicants for this cohort but I know someone that currently works there that went thru the residency program 2 yrs ago who was hired with only an ADN. She did the RN-BSN program at my school & we graduated in Dec '12. I think now they are requiring those with an ADN to get a BSN within 3yrs of hire.

If you find out anything please let us know. From what I've heard from some employees & from reading previous posts the process just takes awhile. If I hear anything I will definitely post the info. Until I get a rejection email I am keeping faith alive! Lol

ok, called the recruiting office and they said they're still doing interviews and they will be doing that for a while, because they have ongoing start dates the interviews and ongoing. And she said out of state applicants will be required to come to Houston for a panel interview (if they invite you for an interview).

Hope that helps. I just wish they would call me!

Thanks for the update! I figured interviews would be ongoing since they have multiple start dates. Fingers crossed for us all to get calls!!

thanks. I graduated may 2012 and I'm still looking. I thought of going back but I really need experience.

I was informed via email today that I am not being offered a position for the spring residency. Good luck to the rest of you guys & hope you get calls for interviews!
