MD Anderson GN Residency Spring 2015

Published

This thread is for anyone who applied for the MD Anderson Spring 2015 GN Residency. Just a way to stay informed about the interview/hiring process. I had my panel interview 10/13/14 and waiting to hear something. Please share any thoughts or info you may have. Good luck everyone!

I might be late for this thread because it seems lots of ppl got offered position for this cohort ...I got a phone call from Toni today. She quickly conducted phone screen interview. She told me she will then forward my application to prospective unit mangers who want to extend the interview according to my unit of interest.

I'm also super late to this post but I just got scheduled for a panel interview this upcoming Tuesday. I'm not located in Houston so they offered a skype interview but I decided on a face to face interview just to be safe. Any tips or anything anyone would like to offer? I believe I'm interviewing for the leukemia and hematology floors.

Hi mbaseyscott. Congrats for interview shot!! When did you know your interview schedule? I don't know mine as of yet. I just was called and to see if unit managers want to (panel) interview me via Skype since I live out of Houston area.

When the lady in HR called me she did kind of an initial phone screening and scheduled it during the same phone conversation. She called me on Tuesday and scheduled the interview for this upcoming Tuesday. She told me they couldnt do it any other day.

What was your unit of interest?

I have looked up flight tickets way to Houston, TX. I am sure I cannot afford. So I decided to have Skype interview instead. I know it is not typical method of panel interview. I might not be considered for Tuesday interview. I may call her on Monday to see if I am scheduled. I told her critical care units which are my units of interest. Thanks for your info mbaseyscott.

Thats definitely understandable. I'm only 2 and 1/2 hours away and i drive to Houston often so it won't be too bad of a trip. It just sucks because i have a HESI right before i have to leave for the interview. Talk about pressure :nailbiting: And yeah, i think Tuesday is only leukemia and hematology so you'll probably hear something soon! I had no unit preference, I'll work anywhere to get my foot in the door. Good luck!

Good luck for your HESI and leukemia & hematology interview. Please keep posted for us and for those who want to get prepared for next cohort.

I was hired for the leukemia unit starting on Feb 9th. To prepare, I suggest you remember all of your clinical & past job experiences. All the questions I was asked were related to my past experiences. No knowledge based or hypothetical questions at all. Lasted about 15-20 min

HESI was fine. Interview went ok but of course I'm unsure about a few things. I don't know. But I'm suppose to know by tomorrow so I'll let you know what they say!
