Does anyone know how the tests in this book compare to the actual TEAS V test? I did the first practice test yesterday (I wanted to see what I need to study) and scored an 87% overall score. Reading 91.6%, Math 88%, Science 68.5% (UGH), and English and Language Usage 100%. Obviously my focus will be science with a bit of math. LOL My school is a bit different in that we take the TEAS test AFTER we've been conditionally admitted (I'm in for Spring 2013) and we only have to score higher than the national average (which I've heard is around 55%). I just want to make sure that what I'm reviewing is similar to the actual test. THANKS!

Yes. It's somewhat similar. I'd say the practice tests in the back of the ATI study guide is the most accurate. Same format, type of question, etc.

It's very similar if not perfect, but after you have read the ENTIRE ATI book, done both quizzes in back as well as the questions scattered throughout the text, you should be able to pass. I bought the McGrawHill 5 Teas Test book and didn't use it at all D:
But if you want, use it! Practice practice practice! When is your test? I admit I couldn't sleep the night before, but refused to ever read the Science again (once was enough.. yeowch), so I simply practiced lots of math problems. Scored pretty nicely too!
Anything that you think may help - use it! As long as it is designed for TEAS V it can't hurt!
Wishing you the VERY best of luck! Deep breath and study hard - you got this. :)

I took the TEAS test the past Monday & I didn't get the required score to enter my school by 2%. I scored slightly above average for readying comprehension and the English section. A 50% on math & did horrible on the science section. I did not use any books just reviews from online. I retake the test sept 17th and I plan on getting one of the study guides. I'm looking for one tht goes more in depth into the science portion.
Go with the ATI study guide - it really does help. I had six days to study with basically zero math and science knowledge, and i got 92.9 on reading, 90.0 on math, 72.9 on science, and 83.3 on english. All I used was the ATI book. I read everything, did all the questions that are scattered through the reading, and both practice tests in the back of the book. If I messed something up really badly I would go back and do it again and again, especially with the math, until it was drilled into my brain.
You can do it! You have time - I would pick up the guide ASAP! I wish you luck!
I don't have the ATI book but I think I can borrow it from school. I only need a 60-65% overall score and my first practice test in the McGraw-Hill book with no studying was 87% so I should be fine. I'm still planning on reviewing the science and a bit of the math. I would love to score 90% or higher.

When you get your TEAS V Study Manual, give particular attn. to the page in your TEAS results which lists the subjects you can improve in.

I'm planning on taking the TEAS next week. I've been studying the ATI book and I've been taking the tests on the McGraw-Hill. I would highly recommend getting the ATI book so you can study the material you need to know for the TEAS test. I've gone to websites that offer practice tests for the TEAS but I've found that most of their science tests are not covered on the ATI book so I don't bother checking those sites out.
Study the ATI like your life depends on it and you'll do much better. Good luck!! :)

When I studied for the TEAS, I used both the McGraw Hill book and the practice tests at test-guide.com/TEAS/ I found them to both be helpful. The practice tests were free and the McGraw hill book was about $15.
Good Luck everyone!

Hi everyone! I havent done anatomy, physio, micro in over 5 years. Was wondering if it is enough to just study from these two books (ATI and McGraw) or should I go buy some science text books? How similar are the questions from the these books to the actual test for those of you who have bit the bullet? Thanks :)

I think studying first from the ATI book and then using the McGraw practice tests will be good enough. The test questions (as far as I know) don't go beyond what the ATI book outlines, so studying from that should be enough.

i took the teas and did poor on the math for some reason. I had flu and my head was really bad, but i got an 87.5% on my science which meant i was a 99%. I am just hoping that gets me in as i have all A's and a good score on the science part.
