Thank you, I'm 1530/co808. So, Mon. we have Nurs 1510 (9-11 a.m.) and 1520 12-1:55 p.m. Were you shooting for Oct. or did you want Aug.? Thank you for being willing to go the extra mile that was sweet:)

Section co808 is on Fri from 9am-2:55pm room E201. I was pretty sure with my ranking that I would start in Oct. but I was willing to take Aug. if there was a spot! I am happy with Oct. because it is actually going to work out better for me with our home schedule. Glad I could help out!:D

Hey Pdib and Mac! I'm Michelle... (LOL)!

We all will have lecture together and I look forward to meeting you!!!! I think my lab is 0810? (Tuesdays - 1:30pm - 7:25pm).

Taflatt: aww! thought we might get lab together!!! I had to get back to class today, otherwise I would have asked if you found out what your lab was! LOL.

Szyman! Thank you for all your continuous input! It really does help a LOT!!!

I have another question for current MCC nursing students: uniforms? Do I really need two uniforms or can I get away with one in the beginning? I am really trying to be careful about money since I am not sure if I will be able to keep my full time job while I am in school. Washing the uniform often isn't a problem, but I am just wondering if I should just shell out the cash for 2.

Thanks for the help!

You really only need one. I have two because I bought them cheap from someone that graduated ahead of me. I just wash them and hang them to dry (they dry fast), no ironing to worry about (at least not for my well-worn sets!).

Do you think the nursing uniforms run big, small, or normal? I heard they run big? Lucky you on getting used ones:)

I'm looking at our credit load for Oct. and its only 3 credits total??? Am I missing something? I realize its just half a semester; I was just expecting to have to pay for more credits than that. No complaints if it's true:)

3 credits it is! I went to see how much it would cost too... and I thought I was missing something too... But nope, it's that "cheap" dare I say! LOL. Cheap is still not the word, as the cost of anything these days is expensive to us all... but it just makes it feel like $350 is a great bargain! LOL.

The uniforms run...a bit large. I wear a medium/large top in the "real world"... I got a medium top and it's much better than a large! I'm short too, and the sleeve seam was about 1/4 way down my arm on the large!!! I have a waist and if I went to a small, it would be too tight around my waist, but even BETTER fit in the top. I'm happy with the medium.

The pants... I would wear a medium... I am normally a 8-12 (like how I said that... LOL... b/c I have clothes of ALL those sizes in my closet). Although, I bought the large at the orientation... they are not too baggy and I can roll them up in the waist (because again, I'm short) and it works fine. The medium in all theory would fit perfectly also...

I think the Dove website (there is an interactive tool on there) said I was a small lab coat, medium top and medium/small bottom... so I would say in my experience... it was pretty darn close...

That's funny; our uniforms are going to cost us roughly the same $ as our 1st semester credits:rolleyes: I think most women have a range of sizes in their closest:lol2: I'm on the taller end, so I have to pay the "extra length" fees:) Ok, I'm off to Dove to check it out. Do they put the emblems on or do we? I purchased my Littman classic stethoscope last week;) Thank you for the reply.

We have to put the MCC patches on.... I got a used top at the Orientation, and the patch was semi sewn on (not that well. LOL). So, I'm not a good seamstress either, so I'm letting my Mom do that for me. Thank goodness she is a good sewer! :bowingpur

I admit I am a bit squeezed into my used uniform :p. I normally wear a large top and size 10 pants and my top is XS and my pants are S. I was hoping to lose a few pounds over the summer so I could actually move freely in my shirt :lol2:. I think when people have scrubs that are too big it looks kinda sloppy, but mine are pushing it for the other extreme. Only one more semester !

I hear you on the too big = sloppy. Also, if they are too big, wouldn't that be a hindrance? Wouldn't the bagginess get in the way of helping patients? :twocents:

anursetobe09: All the luck to you as you finish your last semester. You have got to be over the moon! Did the time fly by for you? I hope it did and you'll be on your way as a RN soon! :nurse:

It really does go by fast! So does the time off during breaks. Those uniforms are ugly no matter if they fit you or not . I think the transporters at Henry Ford wear the same color so if you get a clinical there you get to match them :coollook:. I think I'd rather wear white!
