MCC - Nursing Students Starting 2009

U.S.A. Michigan

Hey everyone!

Thought I would start a thread where we can keep up with all the fun new and exciting things coming our way! We'll get to meet each other in a few days (May 20th)! So, how shall we identify ourselves to one another? Hum...

Anyway, look forward to meeting you all! I'm excited about the Nursing Orientation!

I am excited but nervous! I am so shy when I am in a room full of strangers! I will be carrying a big green patent leather bag and I usually wear skirts and I have curly brown hair!

I am having the same issue in San Diego. I saw wells fargo has nursing loans. has anyone tried them?

I will carry a large red purse. I have long dark hair, wear glasses, I am short, and will be wearing jeans. I am definately not shy and usually smiling.

It is a really long orientation. I'm not entirely sure of what to expect that consumes that amount of time. Any thoughts?

Lets see, I'm a short 5'2" blonde with medium hair, usually strait. I used to have a dark brown piece of hair near my face, but it's faded due to the economy (lol). I might be wearing a black top. I generally don't carry a purse, but may use one or a tote bag to hold my notes/pens. OH... I always have my sunglasses on the top of my head. That's usally a give away.

I'm excited too, I'm a big mouth... so you might just hear a crazy blonde yell out "HEY, WHO'S FROM ALL NURSES!!!" that would be me. Not usually afraid of speaking to large audiences, and usually want to be the "entertainer". LOL. If they said, "who'd like to do a little ditty up here". I would be the first to raise my hand.

So, cool, ladies and gents... we have some ways to find each other!

I'm slow to warm up in person and like to feel out the situation first before I jump in. If you get to know me though, I will never stop talking... (No! Don't run away yet!)

Long dark brown hair with reddish streaks in it. Usually have my sunglasses in my hair inside. I will respond to the all nurses call if I can hear it. I am hard of hearing, so if I ignore you try again...

My real name is Kimberly... :) Can't wait to meet you all!

I'm excited to meet you and make some new friends. I have shoulder length, straight blonde hair and will be carrying a large black bag with silver embellishments on it. I don't know what else I will be wearing, probably jeans and tennis shoes.

We can all wear our bathing suits in honor of this lovely warm pre summer day! LOL LOL. J/K!

A couple hours! I'm excited and nervous... don't know why... but it's a new endeavor! I wonder what University Center Building, Lec Hall A is in? I'll be there early roaming around! ;)

Well, you didn't wear your bathing suit, Mich!

I need to find out when they will have a sale for used scrubs. I really need to get them used I think.

Yeah I didnt get over the to used scrubs until it was too late. Grr.

I was noticing how lucky we all are to share information and help each other because many people at the orientation seemed to have no clue about anything and they were all mad that they dont know their ranking!

I didn't even hear they had used scrubs. So I missed out. I am hoping that at some point they have some more. I'm sorry but that is a lot of money to spend on the uniform. I already have to get a more expensive stethoscope because of my hearing loss.

Hypothetically, "If I was 38 in my ranking will I be starting in August?" I didn't even know what to do with myself. That guy was killing me. I chalked it up to gender (no offense guys), and questioned how he placed so well given that, he either could not accept, or could not understand the answer. I felt like I was dealing with a toddler again. LOL!

I didn't see any of you but I was really sick yesterday anyway and tried to keep to myself. I didn't even sit with the friends I already have for fear of contaminating them.

I am asking for a January start date and pray that I get Patho this fall. I really feel that they should be making additional accomodations for those who gained entrance to the nursing program. If I lost my spot because I didn't get Patho I would freak. I just don't think that it's right.
