Hello everyone!
I've been obsessively reading over the threads for the 2013 and 2014 applicants, but I thought I'd see if anyone will be applying to the Nursing program at Macomb Community College for 2015. I am a transfer student from Texas and will be taking A&P this summer then intro to Nursing (since MCC requires that you take their specific course) and micro in the Fall. I'm so excited to get back into school and was wondering if anyone is following along the same timeline.
Heyyy although I wasn't ready to apply for 2014 I did and took the hesi just to see what would happen ... My advice is the book is GREATfor the test besides the anp portion . you will have to use outside sources of amp and go over every system in the body as well as terms and directions if you can do the math in the book you will do excellent on the test in math .... The books maths matches exactly what's on the test ... I hope this helps :-)
The book is terrible for A and P. The A and P section is just horrible... asking 20-30 questions is hardly a fair way to assess ones knowledge on the subject, not to mention the obscurity of the questions. I spent 80% of studying time on A and P and still only got 80% on the section... I got an A- in A and P and have a pretty good understanding of nursing related A and P.
I honestly didn't think the A&P portion of the HESI was hard at all. It asked pretty general questions and didn't dig very deep into the material. I felt like as long as you did well in the class itself and went over your notes and read the section in the HESI book nothing was really a surprise.
