MCC nursing applicants for 2015

Hello everyone!

I've been obsessively reading over the threads for the 2013 and 2014 applicants, but I thought I'd see if anyone will be applying to the Nursing program at Macomb Community College for 2015. I am a transfer student from Texas and will be taking A&P this summer then intro to Nursing (since MCC requires that you take their specific course) and micro in the Fall. I'm so excited to get back into school and was wondering if anyone is following along the same timeline.

What we have to consider is that there were only 9 hesi dates this year. 9×30 students (roughly) is 270. Given that some people have already taken it in the past years.

Well hopefully that gives us all the opportunity to get into the program! I am sooooo nervous and won't be taking the Hesi until jan but I'm all nerves now. I just want it soooo bad

Do they offer online classes for intro to nursing ? What does the class cover for anyone has who had the class ? Thank you :)

They do offer online classes. It covers a lot of material behind nursing such as the history, the different types of nurses, education, etc.

They do, however I wouldn't recommend them. It seems like an easy class, but the tests tend to be very tricky. So far, everyone I know that took it online struggled.

I took it online and the tests/quizzes are very tricky! I would recommend taking it in the classroom setting.

Yeah, I would recommend doing the Intro to Nursing in a classroom setting. I struggled in that, let alone doing it online. Plus, my friend is currently doing the online class, and she is having a hard time.

Thank you I'm aiming for an A when I do take the class, I don't want to ruin any chances by taking it online where I'm confused.

Hey everyone! My friend just took her hesi today and she got a 92%!! She said it wasnt bad. Her lowest score was in reading comprehension, everything else was straight forward. Did anyone else take it yet?

Hi everyone!

I applied to the program last year and was ranked either 215 or 218 and didn't get in. Last year I applied with a 3.35 GPA and a 86 HESI. BUT here I am applying again!! My microbio final will end next thursday so depending what I get in that class I will have either a 3.7 or 3.8. The first time I took intro to nursing last year I got a B-, and then I took it again this fall and got an A. I actually took it online this fall and liked it but I literally had to work my butt off to get that A. I also re-took english to get an A and already had an A in Anatomy so I just have to wait and see what I get in Micro. All I have to say is, TRY TO DO SO GOOD ON YOUR HESI!!! It is really important and am kicking myself when I heard of someone getting in last year with a 3.0 and 93 on their hesi. Last year I got an 86 so I am really really aiming to get somewhere in the 90's this time!!!! I always like reading these feeds and was on last year's feed all the time. If anyone has any questions about the hesi let me know! Seriously just study your butt off from the book. Just relax and stay calm and be confident and srsly study your butt off!!
